For those of you who have been living under a rock and wondering what Millie Bobby Brown has been up to these days, you better head over to her Instagram and see how things are going for the 19-year-old actress. In a recent post, simply captioned “life lately <3,” the star is seen enjoying her life, rocking a crop top at a birthday party, and, in another photo, is also seen wearing an oversized Nirvana shirt while sporting a towel wrap. For those of you who are amazed by her vocal range in her Journey cover of “Don’t Stop Believing,” just know that talent often crosses over to many different art forms, and stranger things have happened.
It’s safe to say that the Stranger Things star is having the time of her life, enjoying some time off before production of Stranger Things Season 5 begins. And if anybody deserves to have some quality time with her friends and loved ones, it’s Millie Bobby Brown. It’s not easy growing up in the limelight, and despite experiencing bullying from the press and supposed fans, the actress seems to be at a good place in her life and enjoying her youth.
Millie Bobby Brown made her acting debut when she was 9 years old as young Alice in ABC’s Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. It didn’t take much time for the Duffer Brothers to get in touch with the young star for what is her biggest role to date, Eleven, or El, from the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. As we all know, the rest is history, and Stranger Things is about to start production this year for its fifth and supposedly final season.
Stranger Things was an unexpected breakthrough series on the streaming giant. Despite many rejections from other networks, the series made its place at home when Netflix gave the Duffer brothers the green light. The series takes place in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, and follows Will, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and, of course, Eleven, who is portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown. When Will goes missing in the first season, the rest of the gang teams up to get to the bottom of his disappearance, and they recruit help from Eleven, who was raised at Hawkins lab and has telekinetic powers.
Throughout the four-season run, the friendships of the geeky gang are tested by inter-dimensional travel to “the Upside Down” as they combat demons, demogorgons, classmates, and even local law enforcement. Luckily, by the second season, the kids have some solidarity with some adults and authority figures in Hawkins because Officer Jim Hopper (David Harbour), and Will’s mother Joyce (Winona Ryder), have experienced the insanity firsthand. As the series progresses, we learn that much larger government conspiracies are at play, and oftentimes Millie Bobby Brown’s character has to turn things up to eleven to neutralize the situation with her mysterious superpowers.
For those who haven’t yet jumped on the Stranger Things bandwagon, it’s not too late to start binging the series on Netflix before Season 5 appears sometime in 2024. In the meantime, it’s worth noting that Millie Bobby Brown is enjoying life between seasons of the series, looking fashionable, and even growing her hair back out! Here’s to hoping that the gang finally closes the portal to the Upside Down for good! In the meantime, let’s let the kids be kids.
