When it comes to Charlize Theron, there are a few things that we know for a fact. For one, she’s an extremely talented and dedicated actress with the ability to hop across multiple genres and give critically acclaimed performances, and for another, she knows how to dress. Recently, Instagram fan account @charlizetherondiaries shared two up-close-and-personal looks of the actress, which you can see in the photo series below, in which she’s wearing a short, bright purple dress and preparing for a photo shoot.

The initial shot reveals the South African native posing by a set of doors, donning her low-cut purple dress complete with a thin black belt and darkly painted nails to match. No look is without its bling and to make things dazzle, Charlize Theron has been outfitted in a stunning gold necklace with rings to pull it all together. The second image is a bit of a behind-the-scenes look with a makeup artist giving some last-minute touch-ups before shooting can resume.

From her 1995 beginnings holding down an uncredited role in the direct-to-video film Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest to this past year, when she made her way into the MCU via a post-credit scene in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it has been quite a ride for Charlize Theron. Over the last almost three decades, she’s proven herself a force to be reckoned with, having a strong grasp on everything from action films to dramas and even comedies. While the late ‘90s and early 2000s saw her career picking up after landing major roles in features including The Devil’s Advocate, The Cider House Rules, Reindeer Games, and The Legend of Bagger Vance, it would be with 2003’s Monster through which she would nab the Academy Award for Best Actress.

Monster is a classic piece of dramatized true crime cinema, directed by Wonder Woman‘s Patty Jenkins, and led by Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. In it, Theron plays real-life serial killer turned death row inmate, Aileen Wuornos, a sex worker in Florida who murdered multiple men and claimed self-defense in each case. The role would completely transform Theron from her recognizable striking blonde hair and model-like features to gaining somewhere around 30 pounds with no eyebrows and acne scars.

While many of the feature’s financier’s thought the film would be a flop because of Charlize Theron’s severe makeover, it ended up being one of the year’s biggest hits, gaining the actress that year’s Best Actress award at the Oscars, the Golden Globe Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. She would of course go on to star in fan-favorite franchises like Mad Max and Fast & Furious, the latter of which she’ll soon be returning to in both Fast X and Fast & Furious 11. Meanwhile, she’ll also be reprising her role in the upcoming The Old Guard 2, and rumors are circulating that the actress’ 2017 action thriller Atomic Blonde has a sequel in the works.

Just to throw it in as a fun extra for fans of The Boys who may have missed it, Charlize Theron can be seen in the third season of Prime Video’s satirical superhero series as the actress playing Stormfront in the in-universe film Dawn of the Seven. With such an expansive list of credits throughout her career, we’re looking forward to the same gusto behind each of Theron’s upcoming performances.
