She is starring in the Netflix movie, The School for Good and Evil. Theron will portray the role of Lady Lesso, in a fantastical series that follows two best friends who have lofty ambitions of joining the schools of Good and Evil but find themselves getting into opposite institutions. The movie is being directed by Paul Feig and sees Theron join an outstanding cast that includes Kerry Washington, Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchett, Ben Kingsley, and Lawrence Fishburne.
From there, Charlize Theron is filming her return to the Fast & Furious franchise, as she is reprising her role as Cipher in Fast X. Theron appeared in the franchise as the villain for Fate of the Furious, as she lured Dom Toretto over to her side of “evil” drivers. Theron would return as Cipher in Fast 9, only to get away at the end of the film, leaving her set up to return for Fast X. The first part of the two-part finale might be bringing her back to team up with other villains from the past and future of the franchise.
It has also been announced that Charlize Theron is going to be returning for The Old Guard 2, which is another fantastical franchise that Netflix had started. Theron plays Andy in the first movie, who is part of a group of mercenaries that are immortal. They must battle to keep their secret safe when a new member shows up, and the ending of the first movie sees Andy in far more trouble than she might know how to get herself out of.
Charlize Theron is going to be part of many sequels, as the other movie on her growing schedule is Atomic Blonde 2, which sees Theron return as Lorraine Broughton. The first movie saw Theron take on the role of Lorraine in an action-packed movie based on the graphic novel, The Coldest City. Lorraine is an M16 agent brought in to recover a list that reveals agents working all across the world during the collapse of the Berlin Wall.
