Longtime friends, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair recently shared a photo of themselves at a Christmas party, just days after they reunited on stage at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards. On her Instagram, the Buffy star captioned the photo with “Twice in a week! @selmberblair is a holiday miracle!” The pair of Cruel Intentions co-stars were on hand to celebrate the launch of the Melinda Marie x Allison Statter Sisterhood collection.

Earlier this week, Sarah Michelle Gellar helped her friend accept the award for Competition Contestant of 2022, following Blair’s appearance on Season 31 of Dancing with the Stars. The two previously won Best Kiss at the 2000 MTV Movie Awards for their iconic Cruel Intentions scene, which the two friends probably will never have a problem with recreating. Best friends since they first met on the set that they shared with Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe, Gellar made a point to celebrate Selma Blair’s 50th birthday earlier this year, despite being quarantined with COVID.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has remained close with her friend, as Selma Blair went public with a multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018. The disease cut short her time on Dancing with the Stars, forcing her to withdraw, under the advice of her doctor, after just four weeks of competing. Amazingly, while suffering from MS, the Hellboy actress was able to perform, so well in fact, that she was an early favorite to win the competition.

On her Instagram at the time, Sarah Michelle Gellar shared a heartfelt message for Blair “Long before [Dancing with the Stars] I knew you were a ten, and now the world knows. Selma I’ve never been so proud of you (and I’m often proud of you), You make the rest of us believe that we can do anything. That we can never give up.”

Since appearing with Blair in Cruel Intentions, Sarah Michelle Gellar starred in feature films Scooby Doo, The Grudge, then later, co-starred with Robin Williams in The Crazy Ones. The actress also was on board the Cruel Intentions television series as an executive producer, though it never went beyond an unaired pilot. Gellar also lent her voice to Star Wars Rebels as the Seventh Sister and the He-Man reboot, Masters of the Universe: Revelation as Teela.

Selma Blair, like Sarah Michelle Gellar, continued acting in movies, most notably as pyrokinetic Liz Sherman in Guillermo Del Toro’s hit Hellboy and Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, after which she appeared in Dark Horse, a comedic drama that drew praise despite its limited release. Blair’s most notable role was unfortunately cut short when she clashed with Charlie Sheen on the set of Anger Management, leading Sheen to publicly demand Blair be fired.

Today, Sarah Michelle Gellar is part of the cast for Wolf Pack, a Paramount+ series arriving in January. Selma Blair published a book this year, Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up while also advocating for those with MS. The two friends have been together since 1999, through career ups and downs, relationship struggles, and childbirth, MS will not get between them.
