Salma Hayek appeared at the recent 80th Golden Globe Awards wearing a fabulous Gucci dress, proving yet again that the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish star can outshine anyone on a red carpet pretty much any time she feels like it. The awards ceremony was typically crowded with stars of television and film, but one would be hard-pressed to find anyone who looked as fantastic as her. As one can see in a Twitter post from a user with the handle of @Fashion_Critic_, Salma Hayek came to the Golden Globes to slay and she definitely did.

In the Twitter image, Salma Hayek is wearing a translucent Gucci gown that makes up for its floor-length by its transparency. The dress has a starburst pattern of fringe and beads and a deep, square-cut neckline, which the Marvel star is never afraid to rock. Salma Hayek’s hair is pulled back into a messy bun and her dangling earrings are by Boucheron.

Salma Hayek most recently appeared in DreamWorks Animation’s Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, the sequel to 2011’s Shrek spin-off film. In The Last Wish, Salma Hayek reprises the role of the roguish anthropomorphic feline Kitty Softpaws, the rival/love interest of Puss in Boots, voiced by her longtime screen partner Antonio Banderas. The two have frequently appeared in each others’ films since the 1995 Robert Rodriguez action movie Desperado, in which Banderas reportedly talked Salma Hayek through her nerves about her first on-screen love scene.

Since then, Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas have appeared together in the Desperado sequel Once Upon a Time in Mexico, the family adventure film Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, and the acclaimed biopic Frida. Their latest collaboration, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is one of the most acclaimed animated films of 2022, currently holding 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and becoming the highest-ranked film in the entire Shrek franchise.

In 2021, Salma Hayek appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals as Ajak, the leader of a group of immortal, cosmically powered heroes who have guided the development of humanity throughout history. Unlike Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Eternals became one of the lowest-rated entries in its franchise, being ranked 47 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Although the Chloe Zhao movie grossed $402 million globally, it was a comparative commercial disappointment for Marvel Studios.

That makes it somewhat doubtful that we will see the Eternals back in the MCU anytime soon, though it seems that pretty much anyone who has ever appeared in a Marvel-adjacent film is being brought back for Avengers: Secret Wars, so who knows. If we see Salma Hayek back in action, we will certainly not be upset. For now, Salma Hayek will be starring in Magic Mike: The Last Dance alongside Channing Tatum, in a role she described as being very physically demanding. Given that the actress is a woman who is not afraid to get up on a trampoline and have some fun, we’re interested to see what moves she busts out in the film.
