Taika Waititi and Rita Ora seem to be among the most delightful celebrity couples in the public sphere. This was exemplified on Twitter last week when the Thor: Love And Thunder filmmaker shared a video montage expressing his love for the singer-songwriter. The video shows a series of cute interactions between the happily married couple, who tied the knot in 2022, doing each others’ makeup, spending quality time together, and, most notably, Rita Ora constantly jump scaring Taika Waititi as he enters the room.

The adorable display shows off the couple’s silly side, as Rita Ora takes several opportunities to lunge out and scream playfully at Waititi, causing him to shriek in startlement. Given that Taika Waititi shared the video himself, it’s clear that he finds the prank more funny than embarrassing. The Tweet even holds the caption, “Love is scary. Happy Valentine’s Day to my favourite tormentor.”

Rita Ora is best known for her work as a British pop star, writing and performing hit music such as Your Song, Anywhere, and Let You Love Me. Ora made history in 2018 when she became the first British female solo artist to chart thirteen top ten songs within the United Kingdom. The 32-year-old star grew up in West London after her Albanian family fled persecution in Eastern Europe.

In the early 2000s, Rita Ora made waves by signing to rapper Jay Z’s esteemed record label, Roc Nation. Roc Nation is perhaps best known for having housed some of the biggest names in hip hop, such as J. Cole, Jay Electronica, and Westside Gunn, as well as big names across the pop culture sphere like Rihanna, Shakira, and even former Elon Musk partner, Grimes. Since her time performing music, Ora has won an MTV music video award for best dance video and a host of Glamour awards for her exemplary career.

These days, when she’s not busy startling Taika Waititi into a coffee-spilling stupor, Rita Ora is working on her third studio album, with several new teaser tracks having been released in the past year. Most notably, Ora performed the track Carry On alongside Norwegian producer Kygo for the Pokemon: Detective Pikachu film, in which she also appears. The pop star’s official website Ritaora.com contains links and updates to all her latest music.

Many fans have responded to Taika Waititi’s tweet, referencing each of the pair’s respective work and wondering what’s next while wishing the couple a happy Valentine’s Day. Rita Ora has recently signed to a new record label, BMG, so many fans expect new music soon. For Taika Waititi, the comments seem to be evenly split between fans hoping he’ll return to the MCU to helm another Thor movie and fans of the HBO Max original Our Flag Means Death, which Waititi stars in alongside Rhys Darby.

For now, the couple seems to be taking things easy and enjoying each other’s company. Rita Ora is expected to appear in an upcoming Disney+ limited series that adapts the events of The Beauty and the Beast making both lovebirds official Disney alumni. Perhaps if Taika Waititi does return for a third MCU film, we can expect a cameo appearance from Ora.
