Olivia Wilde made a free-the-nipple fashion statement at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Gala in Los Angeles this weekend. The 38-year-old dazzled onlookers in a see-through skin-tight silver gown with a pink feather trim detail by Alexandre Vauthier. The Don’t Worry Darling director’s ensemble was complete with thin gold drop earrings, allowing her gown to take center stage.

For some added glam, Olivia Wilde wore a set of dainty rings on one hand and wore her hair loosely over her shoulders. She also kept her makeup soft and natural. Also attending the event were stars like Selena Gomez, Lilly Collins, Emma Stone, and Rebel Wilson. Julia Roberts, who was honored with the Icon Award in recognition of her illustrious career, was also in attendance.

Miky Lee, Steve McQueen, and Tilda Swinton were also honored at the gala earning accolades for their contributions to cinema, Deadline reports. McQueen was honored with the Vantage Award for helping to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema. The Visionary Award went to Swinton for advancing the art of cinema.

Miky Lee took the Pillar Award for his exemplary leadership and support for the Academy Museum. Hosted by Rolex, the glamorous event was chaired by Lupita Nyong’o, Halle Berry, Ryan Murphy, and Jason Blum. The star-studded occasion also featured celebrity guests like and Olivia Wilde, Keke Palmer, HoYeon Jung.

While she wasn’t an award recipient, Olivia Wilde made the biggest fashion statement of the night in her see-through dress. However, she is hardly the first star to bare it all on the red carpet. In 2014, Rihanna received the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards wearing a sparkly, barely-there Adam Selman creation.

When asked if she would be wearing the gown out after the ceremony, the singer quipped, “Why? Yes, I am. Do my t**s bother you? They’re covered in Swarovski crystals!”

Four years later Kendall Jenner wowed the 2018 Cannes Film Festival when she attended the Secret Chopard party by going braless in a sheer, green Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2016 couture mini dress. And Florence Pugh, who recently starred in Olivia Wilde’s directorial thriller Don’t Worry Darling, attended the Valentino Haute Couture Autumn/Winter 2022 show wearing a hot pink, neon halter gown from the Italian design house, teamed with matching sky-high platforms, E! News reports.

After wearing the bright pink ensemble, Pugh took to social media to call out everyone who may have had an issue with her dress. She also noted that she loved and felt great in it. “I was excited to wear it, not a wink of me was nervous,” she wrote.

“I wasn’t before, during, or even after.” She then added that it was interesting to watch just how easy it is for men to destroy a woman’s body, publicly, and proudly, for everyone to see. So far, Olivia Wilde hasn’t received any criticism for her outfit.

Away from fashion, Olivia Wilde is celebrating the success of Don’t Worry Darling. The film, which was slightly overshadowed by off-set drama, was released on September 23rd. It received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for Pugh’s performance, the cinematography, visual style, and production design, but the writing and direction were maligned by critics who called it a muddled rehash of overly familiar themes.
