Katianna Stoermer Coleman: Who Is Zendaya’s Mysterious Sister?

It’s easy to see why Katianna Stoermer Coleman would want to keep a low profile. Especially when your sister has been in Marvel movies, Dune, and an HBO hit.
See, sometimes, siblings of famous movie stars or athletes embrace the spotlight that comes with their brother or sister’s chosen profession. Not only do they embrace it, but they become part of it, taking some of that spotlight and shining it on themselves.
Others, though, prefer not to be in it. They instead want their privacy and do what they can to avoid any semblance of stardom. Katianna Stoermer Coleman is in the latter group. She is Zendaya’s sister who is a bit shrouded in mystery especially compared to the latter’s overwhelming fame.
KATIANNA STOERMER COLEMAN IS ZENDAYA’S OLDER SISTER
Katianna Stoermer Coleman is one of six siblings. Of those six, there is one whose name just may ring a bell. The sibling we are referring to has been called “MJ” in the past. This sibling is also known as Rue Bennett. Yes, Katianna Stoermer Coleman is the sister of Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman aka Zendaya.
Katianna Stoermer Coleman, or Kizzi, as she is called by her family and friends, was born to Kazembe Ajamu Coleman in Oakland, California. Unfortunately, we do not have an exact date, which has led to confusion as to if Katianna is the older sister of Zendaya or not.
Some publications listed her as being born in 1999 and since Zendaya was born in 1996, which would have Katianna as the younger sister. A little more digging has shown that the 1999 birth year for Katianna Stoermer Coleman is incorrect and although there is no specific date or year nailed down. We do know that she is the older sister of Zendaya.
One more item light on details is the identification of Katianna Stoermer Coleman’s mother. We do know it is not Zendaya’s mother, Claire Stoermer. In fact, Zendaya’s other brothers and sisters were born to Kizzi’s mom, making them half-siblings.
The closest thing we have to knowing who Katianna Stoermer Coleman’s mother is through an Instagram post by Kizzi’s father. In it, Kazembe is seen with two women.
One we know for sure is Zendaya’s mom Claire, but the other remains unidentified except for what Kazembe wrote in his caption. He posted the picture saying, “Me and my baby mamas! LOL” Now, we are making assumptions here, obviously, but you can see for yourself below.
Like the entire family, Katianna Stoermer Coleman grew up in Oakland, California. As Kizzi prefers to stay out of the spotlight (except for the occasional social medial post where Zendaya includes her), details on her upbringing are very limited.
Narrowing it down just a bit, Zendaya attended Fruitvale Elementary School, so one can assume (again) that this is where Kizzi also went to school. This was also the school that Kizzi’s stepmother Claire taught at for 20 years. There is no other information concerning Kizzi’s educational background.
ZENDAYA STARTED ON DISNEY BUT HAS BECOME A MARVEL AND HBO STAR
You can’t blame Katianna Stoermer Coleman for wanting to remain in the shadows. Some people were built for the spotlight while others were not. Some people crave their privacy and Kizzi definitely appears to be one of those.
In this day and age, though, with social media dominating our lives, it is quite impressive that Kizzi remains such a mystery given that her sister is such a famous person with a star that only continues to rise.
Zendaya started her career as a model and dancer. Her very first role came as Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel TV series Shake It Up when she was 13 years old.
While Katianna Stoermer Coleman’s sister was beginning to make a name for herself, Zendaya became even more popular when she appeared on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars. At the time she was the youngest star to perform (she was 16 at the time).
Zendaya was paired up with professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy and made it all the way to the end, where she and Chmerkovskiy ended up as runner-up to the team of Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough. Now she is well-known for the recent Spider-Man movies, the hit series Euphoria, and her relationship with Tom Holland.

Katianna Stoermer Coleman’s famous sister is all about her family. Zendaya has her father as her manager, and they continue to enjoy a tight relationship. The same goes for Zendaya and her mom and although Zendaya’s parents have been divorced for nearly seven years.
Zendaya showed the world just how important her family (in this case, her parents) were to her when a year prior to her parents filing for divorce, Zendaya took to Twitter to defend her parents after a Twitter troll decided to post a picture of them, calling her parents “ugly.”
In her response, Zendaya begins with, “First, I’m gonna pray for you.” From there, Katianna Stoermer Coleman’s younger sister handled herself amazingly. Check out her response.
Zendaya is not shy about posting to her social media accounts and again proved that point when she posted a happy birthday Instagram to her older sister, Katianna Stoermer Coleman. In her post, she called Kizzi “the most amazing big sister in the world.”
Zendaya finished her loving birthday message to her sister by saying, “She’s always been perfect in my eyes and I’m so blessed to have her, so to all those people who call ME their “role model” can thank HER. Love you more than words can describe.”
ZENDAYA’S OTHER SIBLINGS ARE KAYLEE, AUSTIN, ANNABELLA, AND JULIEN
According to Cosmopolitan, Katianna Stoermer Coleman has five siblings. We all know Zendaya (or should by now) is Kizzi’s half-sibling, but the four others are biological siblings.
They are Kaylee Stoermer Coleman, Austin Stoermer Coleman, AnnaBella Stoermer Coleman, and Julien Stoermer Coleman. There is some question, though, about the possibility of another sibling.
This question came into play after Kizzi’s father posted a picture on his Instagram in October 2020 that he captioned, “My first born, Latonja Coleman, and my teenage boo!!” The picture showed a young lady holding a newborn child.
The mystery deepened when Kazembe posted a picture of his “entire” family to which Latonja responded by saying, “Am I still part of this family?” So, maybe Katianna Stoermer Coleman has six siblings.

There isn’t much more known about Kizzi, which makes the confusion about where she sits on the sibling scale understandable. There have been a number of instances where Katianna Stoermer Coleman has been called Zendaya’s younger sister which has also included pictures of Zendaya with younger girls.
These, from what we’ve gathered, are pictures of Zendaya with her nieces and not Kizzi. Again, we can see where the confusion comes from, but the truth of the matter is that Kizzi is Zendaya’s older sister and you can see her in the picture above. She is sitting in the middle between AnnaBella and Zendaya.
Kizzi stays away from social media unless she somehow finds herself in pictures posted by Zendaya or her father. Take for instance this Coleman family picture. Kizzi is in front holding the baby.
Zendaya got her older sister Kizzi in on another Instagram picture, this one on National Siblings Day. Again, Katianna Stoermer Coleman is in front wearing a light sweater.
There is no word on what Kizzi does for a living. It is still assumed she resides in or near Oakland, California, but with her keeping such a low profile, that has not been confirmed. Maybe at some point, Kizzi will step out into the spotlight a bit but until that time, good for her. Keep your life private and enjoy the fame that Zendaya brings to the family.
