Yoga is supposed to be very good for you and from what we can see, it certainly isn’t hurting Kate Beckinsale. The iconic star of the Underworld films posted a couple of videos to social media doing her yoga routine. And while we’re sure her stretches are all for her own benefit, watching them isn’t exactly a burden.
Kate Beckinsale posted the videos to her official Instagram account on Sunday. Both videos show Beckinsale in skintight athletic gear, with a blue top and white yoga pants. The second video is less concerned with yoga and more concerned with Beckinsale’s adorable cat Clive. The actress’ only caption links to the Instagram page for Bo+Tee, an athletic fashion company. You can watch both videos below.
It’s a bit of a mystery as far as when we can next expect to see Kate Beckinsale on the screen. The actress and model has no shortage of projects on the docket, but while right now she has two films reportedly in the can, neither have officially announced release dates. We can’t help but hope the next film we see her in is Charlie Day’s directorial debut. Originally titled El Tonto, Day stars in the film, wrote it, and directed it. It will reportedly be about a silent movie actor who accidentally stumbles into fame. In February, Day said he had decided to retitle the film and that he had made extensive changes post-production, including reshoots with Ken Jeong (The Hangover). Along with Jeong, Day, and Kate Beckinsale; the film is blessed with an incredible cast. The talent involved includes Travis Fimmel (Vikings), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Katherine McNamara (Arrow), Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), John Malkovich (In the Line of Fire), the late Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Mary Elizabeth Ellis (Licorice Pizza), Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), and Edie Falco (The Sopranos).
The other project that has wrapped is one that Kate Beckinsale suffered for quite a bit physically. And ironically, in spite of Beckinsale being known for more action-oriented roles, it was while making the fairly action-less Prisoner’s Daughter that it happened. On The Late Late Show with James Corden, she told the story, saying, “I was in my hotel room putting on a pair of leggings, and it felt like a sort of guitar string snapped and everything was horrific. I mean, worse than having a baby bad, like bad. I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t lie down, I couldn’t sit down. I couldn’t do anything.” Beckinsale plays the daughter of the recently released convict Max (Brian Cox) in the film, who is desperately trying to rebuild his relationship with his daughter.
According to Deadline, the next film Kate Beckinsale will make will be much closer to her action/thriller roots. Beckinsale will lead the spy thriller Canary Black, about a high ranking CIA agent who is blackmailed into betraying the country. The film will be directed by Pierre Morel, best known for Liam Neeson’s Taken.
