Kate Beckinsale wore her dream dress at the latest Cannes Festival.
Kate Beckinsale apparently saw her dreams come true at the Pot au Feu premiere at the 76th Cannes Festival when the English actress had the opportunity to wear what she called her dream dress—a stunning see-through piece that actually isn’t really a dress at all, but more of a green bodysuit with micro-shorts and a turtleneck top.
Dress or not, Kate Beckinsale looked absolutely stunning for the premiere in the mint-green piece, which featured a skin-tight bodysuit that hugged the Underworld actress’s curves as it showed off much of her skin underneath the mesh covering. The material was bedazzled with hundreds of light green jewels that were strategically placed over the body suit in a stunning and glamorous design featuring many cutouts along the 49-year-old actress’s torso, chest, and arms. Beckinsale paired the naked body suit look with a voluptuous open skirt and train that matched the suit’s mint-green color and was tied securely around her waist in an extravagant statement bow.
Kate Beckinsale wore a pair of platform silver heels strapped around her ankles that matched the silver rings on her fingers. Beckinsale’s earrings were a pair of sparkly green flower-shaped studs that matched the dress, and the actress wore her hair in a bouncing ponytail that allowed her to show off the backless fit.
Done up in full glam and wearing this stunning see-through piece, it’s hard to see the resemblance between Kate Beckinsale and Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, despite the actress’s insistence during a recently resurfaced interview from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that Reynolds is her true doppelganger. However, after seeing the side-by-side of the two actors together, we admit, the two look like they could be twins, though the two actors have no blood relation.
While the pair have never starred in a movie together, Kate Beckinsale has had a diverse and impressive career spanning both the stage and screen. She first caught the attention of audiences with her film debut in the Shakespearean adaptation Much Ado About Nothing (1993) while studying at the University of Oxford. Since then, she has showcased her talent in a wide range of roles, from British costume dramas to Hollywood blockbusters.
Following her success in romantic and dramatic roles, Kate Beckinsale took a leap into the action genre, which would become a defining part of her career. Her portrayal of the iconic vampire Selene in the Underworld film series from 2003 to 2016 showcased her physicality and ability to handle intense action sequences. She further demonstrated her action prowess in films like Van Helsing (2004), Whiteout (2009), Contraband (2012), and Total Recall (2012).
Despite her success in action films, Kate Beckinsale has not shied away from smaller dramatic projects. She has taken on roles in films such as Snow Angels (2007), Nothing but the Truth (2008), and Everybody’s Fine (2009), receiving positive reviews for her performances. In 2016, she garnered critical acclaim for her role in the period comedy Love & Friendship, earning a nomination for the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in a Comedy.
With her magnetic presence, undeniable talent, and a career spanning television, stage, and screen, Kate Beckinsale continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Whether she’s wearing stunning see-through outfits at film festivals, taking on the role of a powerful action hero, or delving into complex dramatic characters, Beckinsale’s performances are always worth watching, and her star power shows no signs of fading anytime soon.
