See Kate Beckinsale With A Banana Hanging Out Of Her Pants
Kate Beckinsale is back at it on Instagram, posing with a banana and orange dangling from her pants as she pokes fun at the UK's political issues.
Kate Beckinsale never fails to impress. Whether it’s a showy outfit – from the more chic to dressing up like a mermaid – or the recent reveal that the Click star has an incredibly high IQ, it seems that every week, we’re learning more about the British model-turned-actress. In this week’s installment of silly things Kate Beckinsale is doing to poke fun at the world around her, the actress has shared a photo to her Instagram, which you can see above, featuring a banana poking through her pants.
In the shot, Kate Beckinsale stands with a friend while each has a banana and a small orange hanging out of the zippers on their pants. Poking fun at her native country’s recent issues with finding a steady and trust-worthy Prime Minister, Beckinsale captions her post saying “Trying a more reliable system to decide who should be the next Prime Minister.” Ouch, that one’s got to hurt the political system in England that has its country much less than pleased with their ongoing inner turmoil.
For those of you non-Englanders (like myself) who aren’t caught up in British politics and aren’t totally understanding what Kate Beckinsale’s post is all about, let’s do a quick catch up. It would seem as though tensions began rising back in 2016, when, under the leadership of conservative leaning Prime Minister David Cameron, the country voted to leave the European Union (EU). The occurrence, known as Brexit, would ultimately be the catalyst that would see Cameron resign, opening the doors for Theresa May to sit at the head of the government, but only for a moment before she was unseated by Brexit enthusiast, Boris Johnson.
After an intense political mess during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, that saw an incredibly strict lockdown not adhered to by those at the top, Johnson was finally ousted from his seat over this past summer. In September, Liz Truss was named the country’s Prime Minister but, after only sitting in her position for six-weeks, stepped down with a new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak now sworn in. With six Prime Ministers over the course of the last six or so years, it’s no shock as to why Kate Beckinsale and her fellow countrymen are fed up with their political unrest.
Although Kate Beckinsale may be best known for roles in the Underworld franchise, Pearl Harbor, and Van Helsing, it’s clear that the model has a brain and a knack for the political arena as well. Boasting an IQ of 152, Beckinsale’s brain is far superior than many of ours – 98% of the population to be exact. It’s something that the actress considers to be both a blessing and a curse.
Instead of picking up any old job that comes her way, Kate Beckinsale clearly has the knowledge to be choosy when it comes to what she’ll slap her name on. It also makes all the more sense as to why we haven’t seen her in as many productions as we’d like in recent years. After all, when you’ve already built an empire around your name and have the money to back it up, what more could you be looking for career wise?
That is, of course, unless she wanted to take her knowledge and run for the Prime Minister position in her beloved U.K. In that case, everyone in politics better watch out for the witty, well-spoken, animal loving, and above IQ Kate Beckinsale.
