While the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard legal drama is over, at least for now, it seems like the two might still have words for each other outside of the courtroom. Johnny Depp’s new collaboration album with guitarist Jeff Beck comes out this Friday and some of the songs may be making vague references to his ex-wife, as reported by The Sunday Times of London.

On the new Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck record, Depp wrote two original songs and some of the lyrics seem like they could be directed toward Amber Heard. An example is the lyric “I think you’ve said enough for one motherf***ing night.” Another line says, “If I had a dime, it wouldn’t reach your hand.” While these could just be general lyrics, fans are certainly going to make some assumptions due to the recent public events surrounding Depp and Heard. The Sunday Times of London doesn’t report any lyrics that mention Heard by name though, so it could all just be assumptions that these lyrics are referencing Heard directly. The rest of the album is mostly cover songs, so it’s unlikely that there will be any Depp lyrics to parse outside of his original songs “Sad Motherf***ing Parade” and “This is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr.”

If you are a fan of Johnny Depp’s music, you can catch him when he goes on tour next year in Europe with the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. The rock group includes Depp, Alice Cooper, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen. They’ll be kicking off their tour in Germany in June of next year. Meanwhile, Amber Heard is working on getting the verdict of the recent defamation trial overturned. Though Heard was awarded damages for one of three of her countersuits, Depp was awarded over $8 million in damages, making the legal victory his.

Both Johnny Depp and Amber Heard will be moving on with their acting careers post-trial. Amber Heard will be seen next in the Aquaman sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom opposite Jason Momoa. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is due to come out in March of 2023, with Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Pilou Asbaek, Randall Park, Vincent Regan, Indya Moore, and Jani Zhao also starring. James Wan directs the screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.

Johnny Depp’s next big acting project will be a French-language film titled La Favorite. It follows Jeanne Bécu as she rises through the court of Louis XV to become his official mistress. Depp will be playing Louis XV with Maiwenn directing and playing the starring role of Jeanne. La Favorite is in pre-production with filming set to start in Paris this summer. It’ll be interesting to see how this legal battle will affect Heard and Depp’s careers in the long term. Heard has already faced fan backlash for appearing in the upcoming Aquaman movie and Depp lost major roles in franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Hollywood sometimes has a short memory for situations like these, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they both returned to a relative sense of normalcy in their careers.
