The Elvis Presley estate has had numerous stars linked to it over the years, including Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage, who have both been linked to the famed superstar’s family. After the unexpected death of his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, in January of this year, there is an ongoing battle between his wife, Priscilla, and his great-granddaughter Riley Keough. According to Radar, the battle now has a new mediator as Grease star John Travolta is stepping in to try and bring an end to the fighting by acting as a peacemaker between the two sides.

Following the death of the music legend’s daughter, it was clear that Lisa Marie had lost nearly all of Elvis Presley’s millions before her death and was deep in debt to the tune of $3-$4 million. While the family had worked to turn a profit on Graceland when the artist passed away with similar financial issues, it seemed that his musician daughter had some of her own issues. However, she died with a $35 million life insurance policy that could pay off the debt she built and set her daughter and twin grandchildren up for life.

John Travolta is stepping in to attempt to work through a developing battle between Riley Keough and Priscilla Presley over who would be working as the estate’s trustee. According to the report, the Face-Off star believes it is his duty to help find a middle ground between the two parties as he was very close to Lisa Marie, and Riley revealed that Travolta was considered part of the family. Even though the two had become estranged over the years, Travolta had mentored Lisa Marie from the time she joined the Church of Scientology until she left the controversial religion in 2012.

The contention comes as Riley Keough was named the estate’s trustee when Lisa Marie filed an amendment to her trust in 2016 that removed her mother from the estate and placed her daughter in full control. When Lisa Marie passed away, Priscilla rushed to court to get that amendment overturned and claimed that her late daughter placed her and her former manager, Barry Siegel, as co-trustees. Of course, the result is an ensuing battle that deepens any chasm the family has had in the past, regardless of the outcome, damaging the family’s relationships.

According to insiders, John Travolta has been on the phone with Riley and Priscilla to find a middle ground, not only talking about Lisa Marie but also reminding them of what the late musician would have wanted. He revealed that he knew things between Elvis’ wife and their granddaughter had been frosty near the end of the latter’s life but urged them to come together as they would need each other to get through the dark time.

While the majority of the focus is between Priscilla and Riley over who will be in control of the estate, somewhere lost in the mix is Lisa Marie’s half-brother, Navarone Garibaldi, who could have a claim to the fortune as well. John Travolta has his work cut for him as the drama of the Presley family seems neverending.
