John Cena has set a record for the most Make-A-Wish wishes granted, a record he set himself back in 2015, according to AV Club. Look, some people in Hollywood just come across as the most likable people on the planet, whether real or fake; Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Chris Evans are among some of the most likable people in show business. But Cena overshadows all of them as Hollywood’s most beloved personality, having done everything, from wrestling to movies to television and music; And now he’s in the lead as the most giving when it comes to this particular, and personal, form of charity.

In the article, AV Club notes that the former wrestler, current blockbuster, and tv star has granted a Guinness Book of World Records best of 650 wishes, smashing his original record of 500 back in 2015. The number not only smashes his previous record of 500 wishes, but it decimates any other star as the only two people who have come close are fellow wrestler Hulk Hogan and professional race car driver Jeff Gordon; neither of which reached even half of that at 300.

It is clear John Cena loves to meet kids because to reach 650 from his previous mark of 500 seven years ago, the Transformers actor would have had to perform 21 granted wishes a year, or nearly two a month.

In 2020, John Cena went above and beyond to follow protocols with a mask and gloves to visit a kid battling cancer during the pandemic to grant a wish for his birthday. While the star of Peacemaker gets some attention for his philanthropic work of bringing smiles to children’s faces with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, he doesn’t get nearly the credit he deserves.

After he completed his 500th wish back in 2015, Cena commented that visiting kids is his favorite part of the work with the foundation, saying he drops everything to offer them the best experience he can.

John Cena began his career in the limelight as one of the faces of the professional wrestling company, World Wrestling Entertainment, where he created a persona and signature phrase, “You Can’t See Me.” He later moved on to feature films where he starred in The Marine12 Rounds, and Bumblebee, before landing a part in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and its spin-off Peacemaker.

John Cena even released a rap album somewhere along the way, but nothing seems to be able to compare to his love for visiting children with cancer and making their dreams come true.

What does it take to be considered the nicest guy in Hollywood? Cena believes it is taking the time out of your day to give back, and he does so every chance he gets. When it comes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, there isn’t anyone that can boast even half of the time Cena gives to others.

Records may be made to be broken, but John Cena is setting up a situation where someone would have to make it a weekly occasion to come even close to philanthropy with the organization.
