See Jessica Chastain In A Skin-Tight Spiderweb Gown At The Golden Globes
Jessica Chastain looks fantastic at the 80th Golden Globes.
The 80th Golden Globe Awards brought out celebrities in droves, as ceremonies in which people are given trophies tend to do, and few shone brighter on the red carpet than Jessica Chastain. The Good Nurse star wore a skin-tight, translucent gown with a geometric spiderweb pattern to the ceremony, looking incredibly glamorous. Jessica Chastain is remarkably stylish, even among celebrities and this particular look is one of her best.
This image of Jessica Chastain from the Golden Globes comes courtesy of the Instagram account of Renato Campora, the star’s hairstylist for the evening. The first picture in the set shows the X-Men star posing while gazing soulfully into the camera; her dress by Oscar de la Renta closely mirrored her skin tone, with a bejeweled spiderweb pattern expanding out from her midsection. Her famously red hair is pulled back tightly into a bun, as can be seen in the black and white second picture.
This is the first year the Golden Globes are back with a televised ceremony, after the 2021 awards were held privately due to a series of boycotts. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the body that presides over the Golden Globes) was criticized for its lack of Black representation, with the hundred-plus member group not having a single Black member. Famously, Tom Cruise returned his Golden Globe awards and was not present for the ceremony, while The Whale star Brendan Fraser also chose not to attend due to personal trauma and conflict with the HFPA.
However, many stars did attend, including Jessica Chastain. She was nominated in the category of Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film in both 2021 and 2022, which practically necessitates one’s presence (unless you’re Zendaya). Jessica Chastain was nominated for both her HBO miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (which co-starred Oscar Isaac) and her Showtime series George & Tammy (co-starring Michael Shannon). For the former, she lost to Kate Winslet in HBO’s Mare of Easttown, and for the latter, she lost to Amanda Seyfried for her role in Hulu’s The Dropout.
In addition to Jessica Chastain looking fantastic at the ceremony, many other stars were looking their best. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish star Salma Hayek wore an incredible Gucci gown to the ceremony, while other stars like Ana de Armas wore Louis Vuitton. Much like the Academy Awards, stars come to the ceremony to give it their all, and Jessica Chastain did not disappoint.
Jessica Chastain recently starred in the Netflix drama The Good Nurse alongside fellow Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne, in which Chastain played an ICU nurse who begins to suspect a coworker may be a serial killer. She also recently starred alongside Ralph Fiennes in the drama The Forgiven and as controversial televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker in The Eyes of Tammy Faye with Andrew Garfield.
Next up, Jessica Chastain will star in the psychological thriller Mother’s Instinct and another named Memory with Peter Sarsgaard.
