Halle Berry is already reflecting on the year in style for her that was 2021. The actress took to social media on Monday to share a glamorous compilation of all of her many red carpet looks from the past year. The video covers close to a dozen different outfits that Halle Berry sported on the red carpet in 2021, including at various shows like the Oscars, People’s Choice Awards, Golden Globes and more. Whether it’s an elegant long gown or a sultry low-cut dress that shows off her legs, the 55-year-old star proved that she’s still got it when it comes to being an icon of style.

In the post on Twitter, Halle Berry makes sure to shout out the impressive team behind her that helps make all of these highly glam looks possible on multiple occasions throughout the year. Specifically, she thanks stylist Lindsay Flores, makeup artist Jorge Monroy and health expert Sara Seward.

In fact, this has been a big year of proving that age is just a number for Halle Berry. She currently stars in the movie Bruised in which she plays an older Mixed Martial Arts fighter who is trying her best to cope with both professional and personal failure. When an unexpected figure in her life returns, she is forced to set out on a journey to prove that she’s both physically and mentally not past her prime.

Speaking to Variety earlier this year, Halle Berry noted that she believes parts like John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum allowed her to showcase what she’s capable of on-screen at her age. Now, she wanted to take on a challenge behind the camera as well. After seeing the script and being approached in a different capacity. She ultimately decided that she wanted to sit in the director’s chair and tell a story about a woman whose journey with age is mirroring her own.

Although Halle Berry clearly pays a ton of attention to what the future looks like for older women in show business, she’s also got a keen eye on those up and coming behind her. In a recent interview with the Atlanta Black Star, Halle Berry explained that she has been watching the career of Spider-Man: No Way Home actress Zendaya for a long time and believes she is not only on the same career trajectory as Berry, but that she sees the talented Euphoria star surpassing her in significantly less time.

Both women have made history in show business already. Halle Berry made Oscars history in 2002 whens he became the first Black woman to win best actress for her role in the movie Monster’s Ball. Unfortunately, she still remains the only Black woman who has won in that category.

Meanwhile, Zendaya has a similar accolade. She is the youngest person to win an Emmy for best actress in a drama thanks to her turn on the hit HBO show in 2020. Now, as Zendaya dips her toe into more and more projects and has more and more high-fashion red carpet moments, maybe someday soon she’ll be doing her very own fashion year in review video as she too competes for an Oscar alongside Halle Berry.
