Eiza Gonzalez seems excited about the ceremony, as evidenced by her recent throwback Instagram post showing off a red Versace dress she rocked at a previous event. Vogue’s Anna Wintour has been running the Met Gala since 1995, and it’s a great opportunity for fashion moments from celebs, models, and anyone who wants to front the $35k bill to attend the event. Of course, if you’re a high-profile actress like Eiza Gonzalez, you might get to attend the event for free in your best designer outfit.
Every Met Gala has a unique theme and dress code and this year is no different. The dress code for this gala is apparently “Gilded Glamour” to match the event’s theme of “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” So what does that mean exactly? Well, the exhibition will show the evolution of American fashion throughout the years, and the attendees will be expected to wear white-tie attire inspired by the Gilded Age, which is the period between 1870 and 1890s in America. This means white bowties, white waistcoats, an evening tailcoat, and patent leather black shoes. For women, it means an extravagant ballgown. Essentially, anything that brings to mind high-society New York City in the late-1800s. We’re sure that Eiza Gonzalez will don something appropriately grand for the occasion.
Eiza Gonzalez burst into the Hollywood scene with Baby Driver after starting her career on a number of Mexican TV shows. Since then, she has had prominent roles in blockbusters like Alita: Battle Angel, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, and Godzilla vs. King Kong. Most recently, she appeared alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in Michael Bay’s latest thriller, Ambulance. Her next big role will be in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Extrapolations. The series is an anthology about climate change and how it affects love, faith, work, and family. The star-studded cast also includes Tobey Maguire, Marion Cotillard, Forest Whitaker, and more.
As if attending the Met Gala and shooting a big Apple TV+ show wasn’t enough to keep her busy, Eiza Gonzalez will also be starring in an adaptation of one of the most celebrated works of science fiction of all time. The Three-Body Problem is currently filming for Netflix. The series is based on the novels by Liu Cixin. The series will depict the first contact with aliens during China’s Cultural Revolution. As the aliens plan to invade Earth, different factions form to either welcome the new alien overlords or fight against them to keep Earth from falling under its thrall. The series is a trilogy of novels, so presumably, the show will adapt the entire story if it gets enough seasons.
