See Dwayne Johnson Give His Mom The Best Kind Of Surprise
Dwayne Johnson has honored his mother in the best way by surprising her with something that was cultivated through his success as a movie star.
Dwayne Johnson may just be the king of surprises. Always up for a good time, the Hobbs and Shaw actor seems to astonish fans and friends alike, whether it’s announcing the trailer for his new blockbuster Black Adam, or inserting himself into a celebrity homes tour in Los Angeles (via People), the former wrestler knows how to make an entrance. Now, Johnson posted a video on social media to highlight one of his latest surprises: buying his mom a new home.
According to comicbook.com, Dwayne Johnson recently surprised his mom with what he calls her dream home, and her reactions were all caught on camera. In the series of videos posted to the actor’s Instagram account this week, Johnson’s mom can be seen entering a new home, designed and catered to her style and comfort. Holding back tears of joy, Ata Johnson tours her new home while Dwayne Johnson films her every response.
The first of three videos that Dwayne Johnson posted to Instagram showcasing his mom walking through her new house was set to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, a rendition of the famous song by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. The song is very fitting as the subsequent videos reflect Ata’s ukulele passion, as vintage ukuleles can be seen in a wonderful display. The actor also fit in a Smackdown Room for his mother, which is something she apparently dreamed of having. Built-ins were installed in the Smackdown Room in order to store all of The Rock/Dwayne Johnson’s memorabilia from college, professional wrestling, championship titles, and movie awards that Ata has collected over the years.
According to Dwayne Johnson’s Instagram comments on each video, his mother has dreamed of having a specific home to reside in after a lifetime of traveling. This is not the first time the Central Intelligence actor has bought his mom a home, however. Johnson stated in his posts on social media that he’s fortunate enough to have bought her homes in the past, but that this time, it feels quite special to give her the dream home she’s always wanted. He added, “Mom, there’s no greater feeling than to make you happy ~ welcome home.”
Seeing as Dwayne Johnson will no doubt be doing a lot of traveling of his own in the near future as he promotes upcoming projects, it’s great to see his mother crying tears of joy while walking through her new home. According to IMDB, Johnson will be busy with the upcoming release of Black Adam, the newest addition to the DC Extended Universe that will open in theaters in October 2022. He was also added to the cast of Jake Kasdan’s Red One alongside Chris Evans, which is currently in pre-production, as well as Robert Zemeckis’s The King. The King is a passion project for Johnson who is also listed as a producer on the film, which will tell the story of King Kamehameha and his prophecy of integrating all of the islands of Hawaii.
