There are plenty of public figures who appear to court controversy. Joe Rogan is definitely one of them. As the host of a major podcast on Spotify, he seems to invite controversial topics on his show. That’s created a bit of trouble for him recently, as musicians like Neil Young and Joni Mitchell have asked Spotify to remove their music from their platform in protest of alleged misinformation on COVID-19 in Joe Rogan’s podcast. While many celebrities have been coming forward to speak out against Joe Rogan, some showed their support on the podcaster’s recent Instagram post, Dwayne Johnson among them.

This raised more than a few eyebrows. While many of his fans have supported a potential presidential run for the actor and businessman, Dwayne Johnson tends to stay away from controversial topics. No one expected him to comment on the Joe Rogan situation. However, he did just that when Joe Rogan posted what could be considered an apology, of sorts. In his video, Rogan addressed the controversy surrounding his podcast, saying, “if I pissed you off, I’m sorry”. He admitted that he doesn’t always get things right and said that he would try to do better.

There are many, many comments on Joe Rogan’s video post. The Spotify controversy has risen to the top of many outlets recently, drawing a lot of attention there. That hasn’t stopped people from finding Dwayne Johnson’s comment, where he wrote: “Great stuff here brother. Perfectly articulated. Look forward to coming on one day and breaking out the tequila with you.”

The comment from Dwayne Johnson was simple enough, but definitely rang of support. It doesn’t indicate how Dwayne Johnson necessarily views the alleged misinformation on Joe Rogan’s podcast, but where Neil Young is pulling his music from the streaming service and #DeletedSpotify has been trending on Twitter, Dwayne Johnson is saying he’d be happy to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast on Spotify. With such a contentious topic, that may be read as support for the boycotted Joe Rogan, which may be a surprise for many as battle lines are being drawn. You can see the video from Joe Rogan that Dwayne Johnson commented on below.

Will Dwayne Johnson actually show up on Joe Rogan’s podcast? Hard to say, but it seems entirely within the realm of possibility. Rogan’s show is a big one. Typically, he invites more controversial figures onto the show, which may be why Dwayne Johnson hasn’t already been on there. One of Rogan’s more popular episodes is the one with billionaire Elon Musk, who is known for taking controversial stances on any topic that crosses his path. Some of his other popular guests have been Russell Brand, Edward Snowden, and Ben Shapiro. Dwayne Johnson may not usually be controversial enough for Rogan’s podcast unless the host really wants to ask him about that feud he has going with Vin Diesel. Still, The Rock is a big enough name that Joe Rogan may be tempted.

Mostly, Dwayne Johnson uses his Instagram to post cute moments with his daughter, promote his tequila company, update fans on his movies like the anticipated DC blockbuster Black Adam, and give motivational updates from the gym. Will he soon be sharing an update announcing an upcoming appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast? That may depend on how the controversy with the host develops.
