No amount of forestalling can save Kyle Massey from this Washington State judge’s gnawing loss of patience. A warrant has been issued for his arrest after the ex-Disney star failed to make it to his last two arraignments, TMZ reports. The 29-year-old is facing one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes for sending pornographic material of himself to a 13-year-old girl from December 2018 to January 2019. Massey denies the charge, citing allegations as “extortive,” but the evidence against him has so far been conclusive. The King County police have been combing the interstate area for Massey since his absence at court Monday morning.

The star of That’s So Raven was first introduced to the victim at Universal Studios nine years ago. He was 20 and she was four. An aspiring child actress, she maintained contact in the hopes of breaking into Hollywood someday; an opportunity presented itself eight years later. A reboot of Cory in the House was in consideration over at Disney and the victim, now roughly 12 to 13 years of age, was interested in auditioning. The two resumed communication and Massey learned she was in eighth grade. He pursued her and sent “numerous sexually explicit text messages, images and videos” on Snapchat despite knowing she’s underage; the girl’s mother found out and sued Massey for $1.9 million a year later in 2019.

Kyle Massey’s attorney Lee Hutton claims his client is concerned with the various “misrepresentations made in court,” and has delegated not to attend his hearings in protest. A representative for a King County prosecutor’s office insisted no such misrepresentations were made; Massey’s party had previously acknowledged the court dates in media articles and was fully aware of his responsibilities as the case’s accused. No calls were made, and nothing was filed at the court docket. The spokesperson for the King County Superior Court clerk alleges the former Disney star deliberately chose not to appear, hence the warrant. “No further court dates have been set at this time,” he says.

The actor was expected to attend his scheduled court appointment at 8:30 AM on Monday, following his initial absence on June 28. The Prosecuting Attorney’s office mailed a Los Angeles address, summoning Massey to court, but all letters were promptly returned to sender and officially received by the Department of Judicial Administration on June 24. The ex-Disney Channel star has been missing in action for weeks now, giving the attending judge no choice but to call for a bench warrant worth $100,000.

It’s not uncommon for the occasional Disney star to shed his family-friendly roots and opt for more challenging, risqué roles, but Kyle Massey surely takes the cake for embodying the latter in real life. He was last seen voicing criminal hacker Jeremy of the Purple Dragons in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and featuring as himself in several reality shows and documentaries, notably Celebrity Family Feud, The Mind of Jake Paul, and the eleventh season of Dancing with the Stars opposite partner Lacey Schwimmer. Massey finished as runner-up and was dubbed the “Fresh Prince of Dancing with the Stars” by judges.
