See Christina Ricci In A Transparent White Gown

Christina Ricci looks amazing in a diaphanous Rodarte gown.

Christina Ricci is primarily known as a goth icon in fashion (even if she does not see it herself), which generally means a whole lot of black leather and/or vinyl. That is not the case in a recent post from the Wednesday star, in which she shows off a diaphanous white and red gown from one of her favorite designers. Although Christina Ricci seems very fine with going back to her roots with the Addams Family, it does seem like she is willing to try out some other looks on occasion.

In the image posted to Christina Ricci’s popular Instagram account (currently at 1.5 million followers and counting), the actress is wearing a gorgeous, translucent gown designed by Rodarte. The Los Angeles-based fashion house founded by Kate and Laura Mulleavy seems to be a favorite of both Christina Ricci and her Wednesday co-star Jenna Ortega, who has been spotted wearing the designers’ works numerous times.

This dress is composed of layers of nearly transparent white fabric decorated with small red hearts, making Christina Ricci look as though she is ready to pop out of a box of Valentine’s chocolates. The actress has mentioned her comfort level with all kinds of costumes (or lack thereof) in the past, so that actually does not seem like that unlikely of a scenario, should some chocolate company be lucky enough to get her onboard for a sponsorship.

Of course, that hypothetical chocolate company would need to convince Christina Ricci to find the time for it. In recent years, Ricci has been extraordinarily busy, playing one of the lead roles on the massively popular Netflix show Wednesday, in which Jenna Ortega took on the Wednesday Addams role she had played in the 1990s Barry Sonnenfeld movies. There has yet to be a word on whether we can expect Christina Ricci back for the second season of Wednesday, but considering this is a show that already deals with werewolves, ghosts, and all sorts of weird things, it is definitely not beyond belief.

Christina Ricci will definitely be returning for the upcoming second season of the breakout Showtime horror drama Yellowjackets, in which she plays the present-day version of the character Misti Quigley (played as a teen by Sammi Hanratty), one of a number of survivors of a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness in 1996. While Ricci has since revealed she did not know what she was getting into with the extremely grim, graphic series, her take on Misty as a very chipper, normcore maybe-serial killer quickly became a fan favorite.

Yellowjackets Season 2 is set to be released in March 2023, with Christina Ricci being joined by returning stars Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey, and Sophie Thatcher, as well as new additions Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell, and Elijah Wood. It was also renewed for a third season before the release of the second, so it seems Showtime is ready to go all-in on this particular group of stranded cannibalistic teens. For our part, we’ll always show up for Christina Ricci.
