Christina Ricci has been one of cinema’s bright stars since her 1990s breakthrough playing Wednesday Addams in Barry Sonnenfeld’s hit movies, and she has shown no signs of slowing down since then. In addition to being a remarkably versatile character actress, the Yellowjackets star has become a goth fashion icon (even if she doesn’t think she has ever been truly goth) and a sex symbol. In a recent throwback picture posted by a Christina Ricci fan Instagram account, the actress showed off a cut-out mini-frock and looked fantastic doing so.

The photo shows Christina Ricci attending the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Dinner in 2012, posing for what looks like a candid shot on the street. The Matrix Resurrections star is wearing a black and burgundy frock by Richard Chai; the skirt is extremely short, while the midriff cut-out leads to a stylized halter top. Her lips are made-up with deep red lipstick, and her light brown hair is brushed in a side part and falls below her shoulders.

Back in 2012, Christina Ricci was on an impressive run of projects. She starred in the period piece drama Bel Ami, alongside Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, and Kristin Scott Thomas; the story saw the future Batman actor playing a wily young man manipulating his way to the top of Parisian high society via seduction. The film was based on a 19th-century novel by Guy de Maupassant and was received poorly by critics.

That year, Christina Ricci also starred in War Flowers, a Civil War drama directed by Serge Rodnunsky. However, the actress did not focus solely on movies that year, also starring in Pan Am, a single-season ABC drama about the iconic airline in the 1960s. The show aired in the wake of AMC’s influential Mad Men series, and also co-starred a pre-Wolf of Wall Street Margot Robbie and a pre-Stranger Things David Harbour.

Finally, Christina Ricci starred in an episode of the critically-acclaimed legal thriller series The Good Wife and in a music video for R&B singer Delleile Ankrah. In short, Christina Ricci works a whole lot, no matter what year it is.

Christina Ricci has mostly transitioned to prestige television these days, currently starring in the hit Showtime series Yellowjackets as Misty Quigley, a disconcertingly chipper residential care nurse and probably cannibal. The show also stars Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Sammi Hanratty, and Sophie Thatcher, among many others, and will soon feature Elijah Wood in the second season. Yellowjackets Season 2 will premiere this March and has already been renewed for a third season.

Yellowjackets currently has a perfect 100 percent critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating the first season of the show is universally acclaimed. Christina Ricci also recently appeared in the first season of Netflix’s enormously popular series Wednesday alongside Jenna Ortega, who plays a teenage version of the Wednesday Addams character Ricci once portrayed. Although we have no word as to whether Christina Ricci will show up in the recently announced second season, we can certainly hope so.
