See Christina Ricci In A Black Lace Dress And Underwear

By Nathan Kamal | Published

Christina Ricci recently claimed that she was not a goth and never had been, but then she shows up on the cover of Bust Magazine in a diaphanous black lace gown and matching underwear and it is a little difficult to take that seriously. The eternal Addams Family star has always had a penchant for risque (and more than a little odd) photoshoots, and this particular one is no exception. Christina Ricci posted the cover of the magazine to her Instagram account and we are all the better for it.

Like most modern film and movie stars, Christina Ricci has a robust social media presence; on her Instagram stories, she recently just celebrated her landmark millionth follower. She often uses her account to show off some very quirky and interesting outfits, including this one.

On the cover of the latest Bust Magazine, Christina Ricci is wearing a dress that can only be described as “dark angel chic,” with wide, wing-like sleeves and a transparent skirt of lace that only theoretically covers her black bikini bottoms. The dress is tagged as being from the fashion house of Rodarte; considerately, Christina Ricci also tagged Rodarte founders Kate and Laura Mulleavy in the picture.

In the image, Christina Ricci’s hair is jet black and styled in a flicked-out bob, styled by Brian Fisher. Her eyes are heavily layered in black mascara and her famous cheekbones are flamboyantly contoured, both by makeup artists Allan Avandeno and Ruby Vo. The cover is credited as being shot by photographer Emily Shur and overseen by Bust creative director Laurie Henzel.

After graduating from acclaimed child star status in The Addams Family movies from director Barry Sonnenfeld and the slightly less iconic Casper, Christina Ricci quickly moved to offbeat indie dramas like Vincent Gallo’s Buffalo ‘66 and Ang Lee’s The Ice Storm with fellow child stars Tobey Maguire, Elijah Wood, and Katie Holmes. Perhaps inevitably, she eventually arrived at her destiny to work with filmmaker Tim Burton in Sleepy Hollow, along with his longtime muse Johnny Depp and a murderer’s row of British character actors.

Christina Ricci is currently collaborating with both her past self and past director in the new Netflix series Wednesday, which is executive produced by Tim Burton and stars Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the eight-episode series follows Wednesday as a teen, when she is sent to the mysterious Nevermore Academy after unleashing a shoal of piranhas on a jock at her old school. Pretty classic Addams Family stuff.

Christina Ricci in Wednesday

In addition to Christina Ricci and Jenna Ortega, Wednesday stars The Sandman’s Gwendoline Christie as the principal of the school and the former rival of Wednesday’s mother Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Luis Guzman plays family patriarch Gomez Addams, while Riki Lindholme plays Wednesday’s therapist and Fred Armisen her Uncle Fester.

In Wednesday, Christina Ricci plays a mysterious new character named Marilyn Thornhill, but it seems pretty likely that she will turn out to be something more than she seems. Wednesday is currently streaming on Netflix.
