Christina Hendricks is probably best known for her role on AMC’s hit series Mad Men, but posts like her most recent one on Instagram might give that a run for its money. In this incredible shot, Hendricks shows off a form fitting one piece lingerie set. She also has cleverly composed the pic to feature a full length shot in a wall-mounted mirror, while she has something like an analog close-up of her face in a smaller vanity mirror to the right. Hendricks’ stunning physique has long been a part of her public persona, and with a pic like this, it is no wonder why. Check it out here:

Christina Hendricks began her career as a model, working around the world in New York City, Los Angeles and London. While she periodically tried her hand at other fields, she kept modeling through the late 1990s. Speaking of hands, her most famous work from this period of modeling is doubtlessly the iconic poster for the Academy Award winning Sam Mendes film American Beauty. Last year, Hendricks revealed that the hand was hers from an otherwise undistinguished modeling shoot, while the body was that of actor/model Chloe Foster. Apparently Hendricks had no idea that the shoot was for American Beauty, and only realized it upon seeing the poster herself.

She continued to model and eventually began appearing in television roles around the beginning of the 2000s. Christina Hendricks also appeared in a music video for the band Everclear, sporting some of the most late 1990s looks imaginable. Among other shows, Hendricks appeared in a recurring role on the cult space western Firefly (whose Disney+ reboot might be in doubt these days). But her most famous role came as Joan Holloway on the AMC drama Mad Men. As set in the advertising world of the 1960s and 1970s, the character of Joan became one of the most compelling of the series. Her slow evolution from a queen-bee office manager deeply entrenched in the institutional sexism of Madison Avenue to an independent business woman and single mother was one of the highlights of the acclaimed series.

Still, the attention paid to her role on Mad Men was reportedly sometimes frustrating to Christina Hendricks. Though she was nominated for numerous acting awards throughout the course of the show, a disproportionate amount of attention was lavished on Hendricks’ figure. She has described in numerous interviews that she felt particularly singled out for body shaming, particularly given the curvaceousness of her body compared to many starlets. Happily, she has also said many times that she has learned to be comfortable in her body and her public appearance, which this Instagram post certainly shows. Between 2016 and 2021, Hendricks co-starred with Retta and Mae Whitman on the NBC crime comedy show Good Girls, which can now be streamed on Netflix. She also appeared in the acclaimed films Drive and The Neon Demon from director Nicolas Winding Refn. We’ll be very interested to see her next role, but if she keeps posting like this, we are happy to follow that too.
