Chloe Bennet went from an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. to an agent of H.O.T. in a series of pictures the star posted to her Instagram recently. Bennet evokes the golden age of Hollywood in a glamorous floor-length red dress that hugs her body in all the right places. If the 31-year-old’s goal was to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month in style, then she nailed it.

One picture has Chloe holding a camera and pointing it at the photographer playfully, while another shows Bennet looking bored and holding a glass bottle of Coca-Cola. In the next photo, the actress is chugging the bottle of soda with her other hand on her hip—a pose that says, “Photoshoot or not, a girl’s gotta stay hydrated!”

The Abominable and the Invisible City actress was all dolled up for the Gold House Gala, an event held to kick off AAPI Heritage Month. AAPI, or Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, is a month-long celebration of all the Americans of Asian or Pacific Islander descent that have helped and continue to help make the U.S. great. Chloe Bennet was far from the only famous face at the gala.

Also in attendance was Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan, Eva Longoria, and Sandra Oh. Shang-Chi star Awkwafina, WandaVision‘s Randall Park, and Ms. Marvel herself, Iman Vellani, were also in attendance to make sure that Chloe Bennet wasn’t the only one there repping the MCU.

Chloe Bennet was born Chloe Wang but was forced to change her professional last name to Bennet—her father’s first name—in order to score roles that weren’t just written for Asians. Prior to that, Bennet lived in China with her paternal Grandmother for a few years to pursue a singing career under her birth name. Upon returning to the US, Chloe released a couple of singles, “Uh Oh” and “Every Day in Between,” in an attempt to kickstart a music career stateside.

Chloe Bennet soon abandoned her goal of pop stardom in favor of acting—her true calling. Bennet started out with a seven-episode stint on Nashville before hitting it big with the Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Chloe starred as Daisy “Skye” Johnson on the ABC series for seven seasons and 136 episodes.

From the S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s pilot to the series finale, Chloe Bennet was the face of Marvel when it came to the small screen. Bennet was all set to take that superhero vibe over to the CW for a live-action Powerpuff Girls reboot titled Powerpuff, but things didn’t work out exactly as planned. According to the actress’s Wikipedia page, Bennet was cast as Blossom for the reboot in 2021 alongside Dove Cameron as Bubbles and Yana Perrault as Buttercup.

A pilot was shot, but as is common in Hollywood, the CW wanted to tweak a few things and ordered the pilot to be reshot. Scheduling conflicts led Bennet to leave the project in August 2021, depriving fans of the chance to see Daisy and Buttercup together on screen. Sadly the project seems to have been abandoned altogether, but pictures of the cast—including Bennet—in their Powerpuff outfits are floating around online for the curious.

Chloe Bennet may no longer be an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. or a Powerpuff Girl, but she’ll always be a superhero to her fans!
