Carmen Electra has been a sex symbol for going on thirty years now, and she shows no signs of slowing down. Her Instagram account currently has about 1.3 million subscribers, and she does not let any of them down with her continuing fabulous modeling pics. While her posts can range from her working a runaway for legendary designer Jean Paul Gaultier to showing off her 1990s Baywatch look to uh, reminding everyone that she was in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 with Steve Martin and Eugene Levy, they are never short of scintillating (okay, maybe that last one doesn’t count).

In this recent picture, Electra is sternly posing in a sheer, form-fitting bodysuit. Her hair is artfully piled high on her head, and the bodysuit has a dramatically plunging neckline that shows off that famous beach body. It also flares at the shoulders at a sharp angle, and her severe body posture just gives more emphasis to the caption of “stand strong.” Check out the post here:

That sort of dramatic monochrome shot is just one aspect of Carmen Electra’s long and iconic career as model and actor. She began her career as a professional dancer in her native Ohio, but first came to national prominence when she moved to Minneapolis and met the legendary musician Prince. She swiftly became one of his many musical proteges (sharing that role with the likes of Sheila E, Morris Day & The Time and Janelle Monáe). Electra released a self-titled album largely written by Prince, but it failed to make much of an impact. She transitioned to acting shortly after, appearing in small roles until she had her breakout in the popular NBC beach drama Baywatch. On the show, she portrayed Lani McKenzie, an aspiring dancer using her lifeguard job to fund her passion. While she was only on the show a year, it brought her to her greatest attention yet.

After leaving Baywatch, Carmen Electra began appearing in more movies, including the popular horror parody franchise Scary Movie. She also hosted MTV’s Singled Out dating show, after the departure of original host Jenny McCarthy (who had coincidentally guest starred on Baywatch several times). She continued to mostly appear in comedies like the aforementioned Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Date Movie, as well as becoming ubiquitous on MTV and various reality shows. In the late 1990s, her personal life became near-constant tabloid fodder.

Carmen Electra had a well-publicized and brief romance with controversial NBA star Dennis Rodman, which culminated in a Las Vegas marriage that was later annulled on the grounds of an “unsound mind.” While the two would continue to date for some time after, they eventually amicably separated. Electra was also married to Jane’s Addiction/Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist and professional tattooed person Dave Navarro for several years, as documented in the show ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave. In all the time and controversy, Electra has remained as dedicated as ever to showing her fans her fashion sense in all its glory, and thanks to Instagram, it is easier than ever to find.
