Three days ago, on June 30, Britney Spears posted a video on her Instagram that transitions between her wearing three different colored bikinis with a pink, red, and yellow variant. Though no message was attached, it does look like she’s putting it out there that despite recent troubles, she’s still very confident around certain areas of her life.

Britney Spears is currently spending her weekend in Maui to celebrate July fourth. The video was a response to the paparazzi who have found her during her vacation. Pictures were taken, and some altered the look of her body. The 39-year-old singer had another post on the picture and video sharing platform calling it out about how that is not how she actually looks. Thus the video of her in various bikinis showing how she really looks when she is off to hit the beach in Hawaii. Check out the Instagram post:

On June 21, Britney Spears first posted on Instagram about her trip to Maui with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari. Within her time in Hawaii, she posted multiple videos showcasing views of the landscape, from the plethora of trees to the coastal views, lounging around by the pool, and plenty of dancing in brightly colored bikinis.

The video from Britney Spears was met with a positive reception from her followers. It continues the trend of the Free Britney movement that has garnered her so much support recently.

What has brought Britney Spears so much additional attention recently is the ruling about her legal conservatorship with her father, James Spears. Even though she often posts about vacations in places like Maui with her boyfriend, videos of her cat, videos of her dancing in various outfits, and positive messages to her 31 million followers, recently she became open about these other struggles. While it has been signed for over a decade, Britney came out last week regarding abuses like being overworked without being allowed to take a break,  medicated with lithium, and prevented to remove her birth control to have more children.

James Spears denied the claims made by his daughter Britney Spears. The judge ultimately decided to side with the father by declining the daughter’s request to remove the conservatorship.

It would not mark the only struggle the singer has faced. The New York Times documentary series Framing Britney Spears from earlier this year that debuted on Hulu detailed other things about her life that were not known. Much of that focus was on Justin Timberlake‘s relationship with her that went from 1999 to 2002. When he released the song Cry Me A River with a music video with a Spears lookalike, the song and video aimed to blame the ex-girlfriend for the breakup. In a later apology to his ex, he apologized to Janet Jackson for the incident that took place during the 2004 Super Bowl when she had a mishap with her outfit with a response that blamed her for what happened.

Britney Spears’ father was appointed this position in her life in 2008. Conservatorships can be placed for someone’s physical or mental limitations. At the time she had shaved her head and attacked a paparazzi’s car. These incidents, suggesting a mental health issue, are what ultimately pushed her into the current conservatorship. While she’s actively fighting to have it removed, she appears to be at least trying to live out other parts of her life.
