Since her first major breakthrough role as April Ludgate on Parks and Recreation, Aubrey Plaza has been stealing our hearts with her sarcastic, dry, witty, and all-around sassy tone. And, while she continues to steal the screen in her film performances, the actress is also the belle of the ball – or rather the red carpet – in outfits like glamorous corsets and revealing gowns. In her most recent outing, which saw her celebrating her film Emily the Criminal at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, the actress came dressed for business in an all-black suit and took to Instagram to show it off, in a post that you can see below.

Two of the images showcase the fun-loving Aubrey Plaza on her own, posing for the flashing cameras on the red carpet and dazzling viewers with her sleek all-black ensemble with an eye-popping red lip. Two other shots in the batch reveal Plaza’s silly relationship with fellow Hollywood all-star Cate Blanchett with the two all smiles and goofy faces for their set of photos. Finally, we see Plaza standing next to the Academy Award-nominated actor, Paul Mescal, in a shot that sees both celebs more relaxed and rocking sunglasses.

Aubrey Plaza in The White Lotus

While Paul Mescal and Aubrey Plaza have yet to be seen opposite one another on the big screen, the chance almost presented itself for Plaza and Cate Blanchett, with both actresses signed on to appear in Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi drama Megalopolis. Unfortunately, things didn’t quite pan out with not only Cate Blanchett dropping from the feature, but also Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer, Jessica Lange, and the late James Caan stepping away. Replacing them will be Nathalie Emmanuel, Grace VanderWaal, James Remar, Kathryn Hunter, and Plaza.

Despite never having appeared opposite one another, the love is still alive between Cate Blanchett and Aubrey Plaza, with the duo supporting each other in all their ventures. Like her in-person support from Blanchett, The White Lotus actress also brought in a round of celebration from a star-heavy list in her comment section. From her Megalopolis co-star and Fast X actress Emmanuel to Minx star Lennon Parham and Bound’s Gina Gershon, everyone was coming out of the woodwork to celebrate Plaza’s latest film and red carpet fit.

Now streaming on Netflix, Emily the Criminal stars Aubrey Plaza in the titular role as a recent college graduate with a heaping pile of student loan debt. Unable to find a job and seeing a heist as her only way out of her crippling financial confines, Emily dives headfirst into a stolen credit card scam. Along with Plaza, John Patton Ford’s directorial debut also stars Gina Gershon, Theo Rossi, and Megalyn Echikunwoke. Up for four Independent Spirit Awards, the title took home the award for Best First Screenplay which went to director and writer John Patton Ford.

While we may be cheering for Aubrey Plaza and Jenna Ortega to combine their dark powers for a project, Plaza will soon be seen in Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, the aforementioned Megalopolis, and The Ark and the Aardvark. Marvel audiences are also gleefully counting down the days for her arrival into the MCU (following her time on Legion, of course) in the WandaVision spin-off, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
