The actress took to her Instagram to give us a visual of the stunning cover along with a sneak peek of the photoshoot that goes along with it. Take a look at the post below, which has two photos. Anya Taylor-Joy made sure to tag Edward Enninful in the post as well, giving credit to the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine. The cover has her posing in an elegant dress, perfectly messy hair, and a crown on her head. This is definitely a nod to her fan-favorite role in The Queen’s Gambit, where she played a young chess prodigy. The next photo features her posing on a chair with a deep red background, adorned in a black top and sheer black tights. Not content to just give us one sneak peek at the photoshoot, she posted another image on her Instagram that featured her in an incredible pink ensemble. Check out that post below.
It’s not surprising that the team at British Vogue chose Anya Taylor-Joy for their latest cover. The actress is absolutely on fire lately, appearing in great shows and movies, plus the upcoming projects she has that all look to be a continued showcase for her talent. Her most recent TV appearance was in the critically acclaimed Peaky Blinders, appearing in the most recent season as her character Gina Gray after making her first appearance on the show in 2019. She also appeared in the latest directorial effort of Edgar Wright, Last Night in Soho in 2021.
For Anya-Taylor Joy’s next project, we won’t have to wait long. Acclaimed director Robert Eggers will be bringing us The Northman on April 22. The movie tells the story of a Viking on a quest to avenge his father’s murder. Anya Taylor-Joy will be playing Olga of the Birch Forest, alongside a star-studded cast list that includes Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, and many more. She’ll also be starring in the next David O. Russell movie which has no plot details as of yet but also stars Christian Bale, Zoe Saldana, Margot Robbie, Robert De Niro, and more.
Perhaps two of the most anticipated (in very different ways) projects that Anya Taylor-Joy has coming up are the animated Mario movie where she voices Princess Peach and the Furiosa movie where she stars as a younger version of the Furiosa character we met in Mad Max: Fury Road. The Mario movie has a wild cast that has been a bit confusing for fans (though Anya Taylor-Joy isn’t really the reason for the controversy) and the Furiosa movie is anticipated because of how amazing the last Mad Max movie was. It’ll be interesting to see how she takes over the role for Charlize Theron.
Until we can see all of Anya Taylor-Joy’s exciting new projects, we’ll just have to stick to checking out her latest posts on Instagram. If all of them are as stunning as this latest photoshoot, it should definitely help to hold fans over until the next movie.
