Being famous may have its perks but, if Alexandra Daddario is any gauge, an empty schedule isn’t one of them. Right after attending this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, the former Percy Jackson star showed up in New York City for New York Fashion Week. She shared some of the photos of her bold and sexy look on Instagram; wearing a pinstripe suit with a one shoulder black crop top beneath, exposing her flawless midriff.

Alexandra Daddario wasn’t the only stunning beauty to be honored with her first Emmy nomination this year who jumped on a plane for NYC soon after. Her White Lotus co-star Sydney Sweeney was there as well, showing off her own assets during designer Tory Burch’s show. Both Daddario and Sweeney were nominated for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category for their White Lotus roles, but the trophy went to another actress from the series–Jennifer Coolidge (A Mighty Wind), who also happens to be the only member of Season 1’s cast who will be back for Season 2.

In fact, that entire category was filled either with actresses like Alexandra Daddario from The White Lotus or from the Hulu drama Dopesick. It’s indicative of an issue that many believe was a contributing factor to this year’s Emmy Awards suffering their lowest viewer ratings ever; that while the show was broadcast on NBC, the nominees were dominated by series from streaming services and premium channels. Those without those services may have decided to get their Monday night entertainment elsewhere because they had none of their own favorite shows to root for.

Thankfully, Alexandra Daddario’s next big splash will be accessible pretty much to anyone with basic cable. She’s nabbed the lead role in the upcoming Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches series on AMC, due to premiere in early 2023. Daddario will play Dr. Rowan Mayfair, who comes to discover she’s part of a long line of powerful witches.

Actually, while Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches has nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Alexandra Daddario’s new character has a couple of surprising things in common with the more well-known Doctor Strange. Like Strange, Rowan Mayfair is a neurosurgeon when we first meet her, and like Benedict Cumberbatch’s hero, Mayfair is shocked to find herself in a world that defies the science she’s clung to for so long.

It could be that in starring in Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, Alexandra Daddario has put herself in an enviable position–in a leading role in what may be AMC’s next big franchise. The new Interview with the Vampire series, due to premiere on October 2, is likewise inspired from the late Anne Rice’s novels and there was crossover between the characters in the Mayfair Witches and Vampire Chronicles books. With The Walking Dead ramping down, AMC no doubt is hoping they can use Rice’s source material to create a new TV sensation.
