Alexandra Daddario celebrates Emmy weekend by jumping into her pool in a lime bikini.
Alexandra Daddario is hoping to bring home her very first Primetime Emmy tonight, and the star may very well be feeling the heat. As you can see in the shot above, on Sunday Daddario shared a shot to her official Instagram account, calling it an “Emmy weekend jump” in the caption. Daddario wears a two-piece lime bikni. The image captures her just as her feet hit the water. Considering how much time her character Rachel Patton spends poolside in HBO‘s The White Lotus–the series Daddario’s been nominated for–it’s not only a gorgeous shot, but a fitting one.
The Percy Jackson alum will be facing some stiff competition tonight, including from a bunch of her castmates. Alexandra Daddario is nominated for the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Four of her White Lotus castmates–Connie Britton (This Is Where I Leave You), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Jennifer Coolidge (A Mighty Wind), and Natasha Rothwell (Insecure)–are nominated for the same award. The rest of her competition–Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart) and Mare Winningham (St. Elmo’s Fire)–come from the Hulu drama Dopesick.
Whether or not she brings home the trophy, Alexandra Daddario hasn’t been sitting on her hands and waiting for praise from the Emmys. Most recently, she’s been busy filming what may just become AMC’s next big franchise-builder. The network has been capitalizing on the work of the late Anne Rice. The Interview with the Vampire series premieres on AMC in October, and early next year Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches will debut on the same network. Daddario leads the series as Dr. Rowan Mayfair — a neurosurgeon who learns that she’s just one of a long line of powerful witches. The lead cast includes Harry Hamlin (L.A. Law) as Mayfair patriarch Cortland, Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) as the enigmatic Lasher, and Tongayi Chirisa (iZombie) as Ciprien Grieve. They’ll be joined by Annabeth Gish (Mystic Pizza), Erica Gimple (Fame), Jen Richards (Blindspot), and Beth Grant (Speed) in recurring roles.
There has been no official word to confirm or deny that Alexandra Daddario or any of her Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches will cross over with the Interview with the Vampire series, but it seems like there’s a good chance. Daddario’s new show is based on Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches novel series, and characters from those backs would also appear in her Vampire Chronicles series, from which Interview with the Vampire and other books sprang. Then, of course, there’s the situation in which AMC finds itself. The Walking Dead is about to conclude and while more spin-offs from that world seem to be announced every few months, AMC is likely hoping for a new hit franchise with–like TWD–a dedicated fanbase already invested. To not try to build a new narrative universe with its connections already formed in the source material–out of two series premiering within a few months of one another–would seem a little bonkers.
