Adam Driver, known to many as Kylo Ren from Star Wars, is trending on Twitter for a very brief ad that gets wildly bizarre incredibly fast. You don’t know what you’re in for until you’re watching it. Perfume ads are sometimes known for being strange, and, well, this one sticks to the mold.

While photos of Adam Driver popped up online a few days ago, showing that he was starting a new marketing campaign for the perfume, this new video was quite the attention grabbing surprise. It’s made all the more fun by seeing people react to it on Twitter. Reactions have spanned from loud declarations that the actor is hot, even as a centaur, and reminders that the guy is weird and how wonderful that is. Overall, the ad seems to be a win–though of course, as with many perfume ads, it is strange and completely unclear on how it actually sells perfume, but that’s for Burberry’s marketing department to figure out.

For the record, while this Adam Driver ad may be giving Twitter life, the Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer has also been big on the platform and has big nostalgic promises. You can watch that here.

Last, but not least, is the genius who decided to put the new Burberry ad to the tune of Bonnie Tyler’s Holding Out For a Hero. Do yourself a favor and rewatch the 30 second Adam Driver video with this song in the tweet below.

Adam Driver probably earned a lot of his reputation for being a little odd from his time working on Girls, a show from Lena Dunham that was definitely different. While his most loyal fanbase probably comes from Star Wars, he’s also known for his work in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story, which he co-starred in with Scarlett Johansson. He was also in Logan Lucky, a comedy heist film from Steven Soderbergh that was odd and delightful and captured the Adam Driver experience.

While becoming a centaur clearly limits Adam Driver’s time, he does have movies coming out soon. The next project to be released for the star is Annette. This movie was already released in France and has been seen at the Cannes Film Festival. It will be arriving on Amazon Prime Video for streaming on August 6, 2021. Annette is a musical where Adam Driver plays a stand-up comedian and Marion Cotillard plays an opera singer and his wife. They have a baby, named Annette, who arrives with special gifts. The movie has been getting great reviews and has a unique looking trailer, though it may be odd to call anything unique after his new perfume ad took over Twitter.

It seems likely that this new ad is just the start for Adam Driver and Burberry making odd videos, at least if trending on Twitter leads to sales for the perfume company. How will they top this one, though? Can we expect to see him as a mermaid? That probably wouldn’t be as surprising. It seems likely that their creative department has some big challenges ahead for the sequel.
