The Most Terrifying Extinction Level Event Yet: The Walken Dead

Last night on AMC, the amazing Walking Dead premiered with maybe its best episode to date. But we’ve just discovered something even more terrifying than a herd of zombies shuffling past you while you hide under broken down cars and other dead people–The Walken Dead.

You all know the guy. He budges his way into your conversations at parties and then fills the air with Christopher Walken quotes but can’t quite pull off Walken’s iconic meter. One of them is easy enough to avoid, just move away and don’t acknowledge their presence. But what about dozens of them, uncontrollably spouting line and trying to eat your flesh!? This my friends is The Walken Dead. Watch at your own risk, not recommended for pregnant women or those with heart disorders.

The Walking Dead Is Back For Season 2 And Better Than Ever

The Walking DeadThe Walking Dead returned to television for a second season last night and, truth be told, there was every reason to suspect that the show might lose most of the magic it had in its first season.

While it was away the production has been plagued by sounds of gloom and doom. Series exec producer, who had a lot to do with how great the show’s series debut was, left The Walking Dead amidst reports of slashed budgets and lack of creative control. As it turns out, none of that matters… at least not yet.

Neither the mid-production departure of Darabont nor the budget cuts were evident in the second season’s first episode. AMC’s decision to spend less money on the show may start to hurt them in later episodes, but for now, The Walking Dead is as good or better than it’s ever been.

Can’t wait to start your weekly drip of zombie horror? Well we’ve got just the fix you need to hold you over until the October 16th premiere of AMC’s awesome zombie show The Walking Dead.

The folks over at io9 have gotten their hands on a six episode web series totalling up to about the length of a sitcom for you to take in chronicling the story of how the iconic “bicycle girl” came to be. Bicycle girl was the first zombie we got to see both in promos for the show and in the show’s pilot last year, seen crawling around in the grass cut off at the waist, with her spine just dangling behind her. It’s one of the most meorable images from the show, and now you can learn her story.

First Photo From AMC’s Zombie Series The Walking Dead

I’m a little burned out on Zombies. After Zombieland’s comedic take on the genre, it really feels like we’ve gone everywhere there is to go with the re-animated corpses on film. But what about on TV?

AMC is planning a new series called The Walking Dead and the image you see above is the show’s first ever cast photo. The series follows a police officer named Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as he leads a group of survivors to safety after a zombie apocalypse. It’s a familiar zombie premise, but how will it play out in the long form, more detailed oriented format of a television series? I’m intrigued.
