The Walking Dead: Overkill Reveals Trailer For Upcoming Video Game

fb share tweet share

AMC’s hit zombie drama The Walking Dead is on the way back for season 5 in a few short months, but that’s not all that fans have to look forward to. Overkill, the video game studio behind the PayDay series, is teaming up with Robert Kirkman and his Skybound Entertainment for a new Walking Dead game. To announce this collaboration, they’ve released this grim new trailer.

If this video is any indication of how the finished product is destined to unfold, we’re in for a gritty, bleak time. This trailer is definitely a slow burn, and is not a indicative of a happy, cuddly, everybody hug kind of game. No, this looks like it falls in line the severe, foreboding nature of the comics. As you can tell from this video, things are not going to end well for anyone.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Trailer Gets A Stop-Motion LEGO Makeover

You probably already know this, but LEGO makes everything better. Take, for example, the season 5 trailer for AMC’s mega hit The Walking Dead. The preview for the zombie drama is already all kinds of intense, full of intrigue and hints about the direction of the popular series, but when you watch Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Glenn (Steven Yeun) and the rest in tiny plastic form, that’s hard to beat.

The level of detail in this video, which comes from YouTuber Kristo499, is pretty intense, and the stop-motion animation used to animate the figures is fantastic. Can we start a petition and send it to AMC so that they only produce episodes of The Walking Dead in this form from now on? I could really get behind that idea, what do you think? We can keep all of same actors, just use their voices, that way we won’t have to get rid of Daryl, everyone else is expendable.

The Walking Dead: Check Out The Uncensored Alternate End Of The Season 4

Though it started off a little rocky, season 4 of AMC’s hit zombie drama The Walking Dead is easily the best of the franchise so far, especially the second half of the season. And it ends on one hell of a cliffhanger to boot. One aspect of the season finale that garnered a lot of attention was the last line. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) says what is probably the most badass thing he’s ever said, something that makes fans of the comics have hope that he’s on his way to becoming the character he is in the Robert Kirkman’s books. But this is TV, so he can’t say exactly what most of us would in this situation, you know, censors and all, but now, in this video, you can see an alternate take. Be warned, there are swears.

Norman Reedus Talks Beth And Daryl And What He Wore To Walk Around Comic-Con

Walking DeadNorman Reedus had an eventful Comic-Con. The Walking Dead star figured prominently in the show’s presence at the massive geek convention. During interviews he revealed some of the feelings shared by his character, Daryl Dixon, when it comes to Beth, played Emily Kinney. Because he’s a fan-favorite, and unable to randomly wander around such an event without being mobbed, he also donned a clever disguise in order to roam around and check out the festivities.

In the second half of The Walking Dead season four, the core group was forced to leave their prison safe house and splintered into various smaller factions. One of these was comprised solely of Daryl and Beth, which led to one of the best episodes of the entire year, “Still.” Not much happens from an external perspective, Reedus and Kinney are the only two credited actors, and the bulk of the action involves them getting drunk and talking.

Comic-Con-LogoAnother massive installment of San Diego’s Comic-Con International has come and gone, leaving the fans to disperse to the four corners of the Earth, laden down with bags of swag. Of course, many people didn’t get to go this year, and there are even more who’ve never been to Comic-Con at all. Thankfully, this is the internet age, so even if you weren’t amid the throngs last week, you can still experience some of the awesomeness via the slew of panel videos that have popped up online.

These don’t give you the visceral thrill of being in the middle of 6,000 cheering geeks in Hall H, and you’re not going to get to see the really cool stuff like that Avengers 2 footage, but many of the panel discussions and Q&A segments are available online to watch in full. Check out the ones we found below, and if you want to recreate the experience more fully, feel free to watch them while crowded into a tool shed with 30 or 40 strangers. But you have to wait in line for 12 hours first.
