Though there’s been a lot of it, so far most of the marketing for Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel Prometheus has been pretty subtle. The posters feature things like the outline of a face, the images are all closeups of astronauts screaming at something horrible off camera. The trailer shows flashes of things exploding or attacking but mostly it’s all reaction shots hinting at something more horrifying and shocking than you can imagine.

But not so much with the movie’s new international poster. Here it is…

We’ve seen quite a lot about the mechanical components of Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel Prometheus. There’s been a ship-focused spot and the crew’s android David got this brilliant viral video. But now our attention turns to the human members of the Prometheus crew.

The following is an excerpt from the crew files for the Prometheus. It’s the original pitch Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (played in the film by Noomi Rapace) made to Weyland, in order to get her expedition funded in the first place. Watch her make a case for his money…

Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is named after a ship that ventures into deep space on a mission to explore the mysterious origins of mankind. The ship of course is named after the mythical titan who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to people, only to be punished by being chained to a rock and having his liver devoured by an eagle every single day. That punishment does seem rather extreme, but then I’ve never openly defied a god. A new clip from Prometheus the movie gives you an extended look at the Prometheus the ship.

So much Prometheus, it just keeps coming. Because you can’t get enough of Ridley Scott’s upcoming sort-of-prequel to Alien, here are 17, count them 17 new photos from the film. These images cover a lot of ground. Present are all of the key members of the cast. There are candid stills from the movie as well as posed promo shots of the actors, including a wacky one of Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Noomi Rapace being all cute and silly. The collection is sprinkled with photos of Scott from the set, and there are enough action shots to keep things spicy.

You get a good, close look at the uniforms and space suits of the crew of Prometheus. For the first time you can really see the textures, materials, and all the detail work of the costumes, which all look great. In full light of day, or the studio, you really get a sense of how bright and stunning they are in person, or not tucked into a shadowy ship or dimly lit cave. They look a little like space wetsuits, as if they’re going scuba diving instead of exploring a new world in deep space, looking for the mysterious origins of the human race. You also might be reminded of Spider-Man.
