Now that it’s official that Spider-Man is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all that remains is for fans to wait until he shows up. But don’t worry, in the interim there will be plenty to talk about, including his age, race, whether or not they’re going to show his origin story (again), and much more. What we’ve heard is that he’ll show up first in Captain America: Civil War (which makes sense, he plays a part in that story arc and has a great moment we can’t wait to see on screen) and then get his own solo movie. There are still people out there who think Spidey will show up in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and while that seems highly unlikely, check out this video that inserts the web-slinger from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 into the latest Age of Ultron trailer.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, probably the most anticipated after Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We still have to wait until May 1 to see it for ourselves, but if this Saturday Night Live sketch is legit (and I can’t imagine SNL would show us something that isn’t real, right?), we now know how it ends. With the Avengers partying hard.
If you’re like us, you’ve been waiting for this. It wasn’t supposed to show up until tomorrow, during ABC’s premiere of American Crime, but what the hell, we’re glad it arrived early. And without further ado, here is the new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer. We can talk about it more in minute.
Teasers for movie trailers aren’t all that unusual anymore. Hell, a new trailer for a highly anticipated movie gets way more fanfare than the release of a lot of smaller films. The latest case in point is Avengers: Age of Ultron. A new trailer drops Thursday, but in advance of that, we’ve got this quick snippet of new footage to check out, as well as your first look at some of the cardboard cutouts you’ll see hanging out at theaters between now and when the film opens on May 1.
There’s not really much in the way of revelations in this video, but the few brief glimpses we see here are tense and full of action and should be at least enough to sustain you until Thursday. Disney-owned ABC is using what is sure to be one of the biggest movies of 2015 to hype their wares, and the new Age of Ultron trailer debuts this Thursday, March 5, during the premiere of their new series, American Crime. That’s one way to get people who don’t care about your show to tune in.
We’ve seen a couple of new posters for Avengers: Age of Ultron drop over the last few days. There was that big chaotic jumble where all the members of the team show up, surrounded by a swirling cloud of Ultron’s flying robotic goons. There’s just too much going on. After that, we got a Iron Man character poster, and now another handful of the core members have their own one sheets. Also, like the last one, they’re way better than the messy collective offering.
We’ve seen footage of a crazy ass battle from Avengers: Age of Ultron, where Iron Man and his Hulkbuster armor butt heads with the Hulk. That looks awesome, but we’ve also heard that’s not from even anywhere near the climax. And if you thought Earth’s Mightiest Heroes facing off against Loki’s Chitauri army at the end of the first film was nuts, according to Joss Whedon, we haven’t seen anything yet.
Avengers 2 looks to be bigger in every way than the first. The director says that wasn’t the intent, but it apparently didn’t stop him from going all out with Age of Ultron. Talking to Yahoo, he says, “I didn’t mean for it to get larger, but the climax that I pitched was completely unhinged and nobody said no, so that’s that.”
