As a fan of great science fiction I have no good excuse for watching Stargate Universe, other than to say sometimes it gets lonely working the nightshift and you need something to do while you eat your midnight lunch. It’s not a great show, but it’s a show I watch, and I suspect it’s also watched by a lot of you.
For all of the show’s flaws, probably it’s most glaring failure is in its insistence on using floating, silly sci-fi devices called “Kinos” to film reality show confession scenes which, are just kind of ridiculous. But one of the good things about Stargate Universe is that it seems to have no idea how much it sucks and so it just keeps right on doing lame things like the Kino’s anyway. Hell, it even uses them as promotional tools.
Case in point: We have a new Stargate Universe webisode, meant of course, to promote the show. And yep, it’s a Kino sequence. Watch characters hop in the Stargate confession booth in the new webisode and if you enjoy it, try not to feel guilty about it. Nobody’s perfect. We’ll make up for it tomorrow by watching a double dose of something good. Doctor Who anyone?
