The Tron: Legacy viral game we've been waiting for is live and happening right now! Go to zerohour to play. How it works is like this: Instructions are appearing for different cities. Those instructions will lead you to a contact. In many cities, the locations are arcades, which I suppose makes sense.
So where's this all leading? On the viral site classic Tron images are starting to appear on a grid. Click the images and they flip over to reveal they're all part of a larger image. What is that image? It looks like a new Tron: Legacy poster. Could that be where all of this is leading? We'll find out.
As I type this Austin, London, Madrid, and New York have instructions posted waiting to be solved. Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Orlando, and Paris have already been solved. There's lots more to come! Updates as it develops.
In just a few hours, at 8am PST and 11am EST, the countdown running on the Tron: Legacy viral site Zerohour will count down and lead us to... well nobody knows. But tonight the Flynn Lives site sent out a new email which offers clues to those already signed up with the site. Here it is:
To all those who passionately believe that Kevin Flynn, digital pioneer and legendary game designer, is still alive... LISTEN UP!
Our last event at Flynn’s Arcade was a call-to-arms for those of us who won't buy into Encom-driven public propaganda about what happened. We're not crazy - there's more to this story than they are letting out.
Today, we have the chance to find out more... to get closer to the truth. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF OUR MISSION
We need operatives in 25 different cities around the world on Wednesday, February 24th. Organize now. For more information visit:

We're starting to get some idea of what the latest Tron: Legacy viral promotion may be counting down to. As we told you earlier in the week, Zerohour appears to be in the middle of a binary countdown. But now if you go to the page and scroll down to the bottom past the countdown, you'll see something else.
UPDATE! The text has cleared up and revealed itself. It's a list of cities! Here it is:
As part of the Star Wars fan's never ending quest to find ways of inserting lightsaber usage into every day life, a Flash Mob recently took over a Bristol, England shopping mall to dispense Jedi style justice.
It happened on February 13th at Bristol's Cabot Circus. Hundreds of fans enter the mall with lightsabers concealed inside their clothes and then, at the appointed time, whipped them out and began dueling in front of the House of Frames. The results, are stunning. Watch it all in the video after the jump. more...
The following parody video would be a lot funnier, if we didn't all know that somewhere out there, people are actually doing something stupid for real. Some day one of your friends is going to come up to you with a can of blue spray paint and ask you to go hang out with him in the forest. When he does, when that happens, walk away and never speak to that person again. Otherwise, you could end up like this:
Friends don't let friends participate in Avatar LARP.
And just when you thought the world's Avatar obsession couldn't possibly get any worse... there's this. Palestinians have taken to painting themselves blue and dressing up as Na'vi to protest the Israeli occupation of the west bank, after watching an illegal bootleg of the film.
I'm not quite sure they understand the movie. So they're saying they're freakish, impossible to understand aliens and the Israelis are humans? I'm pretty sure if an Israeli said that they'd be a racist. Maybe someone should show them Dances with Wolves. It's only a matter of time before Fern Gulley is used to recruit terrorist cells.
Mostly they saw an opportunity to get attention. So here it is. Their attention. Check out the protest:
There are far worse ways to protest. Why not have a little pop culture fun while you do it, thus eliminating any chance that your cause will be taken seriously. I look forward to a bright, happy future when all protestors will be forced to dress as Ewoks.
The wickedly fun viral campaign for Tron: Legacy has started again! Last time it lead us into a real life recreation of Flynn’s Arcade and a lifesize Lightcycle. This time, who knows what’s possible?
It started when a Coming Soon reader received a package containing this:
Fans of the original Tron should recognize that as “Bit”, Clu’s binary data companion who can only speak in “yes” or “no”. Included in that package with Bit was this web address: flynnlives.com/zerohour/ Go there and you’ll see a lot of Bits, flashing and morphing, as in the following image.
What are they doing? It’s a countdown, in binary language and as of this posting we have a little less than nine days left. What’s it counting down to? Where is it headed? Nobody knows. But we’re locked in. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Last summer Disney kicked off their promotion of Tron: Legacy with what will surely go down as one of the coolest events in San Diego Comic Con history. Attendees were sent on a scavenger hunt around downtown San Diego, which led them to an actual re-creation of Flynn's Arcde from the original Tron. That alone would have been cool but once inside, the wall suddenly parted to reveal an actual, life-size light cycle lit up and spinning on a pedastool in the middle of a room. Only a handful of people were there and if you're a fan of Tron you're probably still kicking yourself for not being one of them. Stop kicking, here's your chance. more...
What happened to the Star Wars credits after they scroll out of view and fly off into the darkest reaches of outer space? A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away attacked Earth:
