How good is Chris Nolan’s Inception? Critics are already calling it the best movie of the year, maybe one of the best ever made. It’s easy to believe. Start watching these new clips from the film, and you won’t be able to stop. They’re engrossing. Addicting. What’s this movie about? Where is it going? Where will it end? The Last Airbender is the most expensive movie M. Night Shyamalan has ever made. Strange when you consider that his last couple of films have been, basically, box office flops. Yet Hollywood keeps investing, perhaps remembering the good times and hoping that whatever talent he once had hasn’t been lost. Right now they’re hoping The Last Airbender will be the cure for what’s ailed him, and maybe it is.
The movie looks fantastic. Worth the $280 million they spent to make and market it? Maybe not, but I’m rooting for it. Check out three new clips from it after the jump, and see if you think M. Night got enough bang for his buck. read this entry »

Watch it, it’s hard not to think of Neil Blomkamp’s Alive in Joburg, the short film which inspired District 9.
It’s part of a short film project being funded by Phillips, which also explains why you’ll be forced to watch it through an annoying television frame. It’s worth the trouble. It’s one of 5 shorts funded by the television company, each filmmaker tackling 5 different genres. But this is the one to watch: read this entry »

College Humor has put together a song parody so good, Weird Al Yankovic would be jealous. The following video uses Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind”, which it retitles “Galactic Empire State Of Mind” and then rewrites to tell the entire story of Star Wars, complete with breakdancing Stormtroopers, Leia working it in her gold bikini, and Chewie grooving while Darth Vader lays it all out.
