Check Out The Watch’s NSFW Blooper Reel
The Watch is set for release in two days on July 27th, and the folks at Twentieth Century Fox are obviously hoping it will be one of the hottest R-rated comedies of the summer. So to build more awareness of the movie, director Akiva Schaffer (Hot Rod) and Fox have released a NSFW blooper reel highlighting the exploits of the all-star comedy cast including Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, and Richard Ayoade.
The video starts out with an introduction from the movie’s director Akiva Schaffer. He talks about how proud he is of the film and why he wanted to share a bit of it with the Internet. But he didn’t want to share a typical trailer, so he put together a blooper reel showing off the improv nature of the cast. Not knowing what Vince Vaughn or Jonah Hill might say is part of the fun with the movie The Watch. The funniest part of this blooper reel involves Richard Ayoade’s character telling this new friends about his kinky and somewhat unrealistic expectations of what his new position on the neighborhood watch will be like.
The premise of The Watch is simple. Four misfits living in a suburban gated community join forces to rid their community of crime, but when an alien invasion threatens their neighborhood, they must stop at nothing to save the day. It kind of sounds like Attack the Block but with upper-middle-class characters instead of poor ones, taking place in a gated community instead of an urban housing project, and routine and safe rather than thrilling, exciting, or original.
The Watch will hit theaters on July 27th. It was written by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (Superbad) and was directed by Akiva Schaffer.
