With the return of The Walking Dead about four months away, fans of the AMC TV series are eagerly awaiting the cast and crew’s annual appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. AMC seems to be releasing new behind-the-scenes videos of The Walking Dead to show fans of the series that season four will be unlike anything they’ve seen so far. And with a lukewarm season three finale, let’s hope the show’s new showrunner, Scott Gimple, can put the show back on track.

Gimple wrote the upcoming season four premiere, while master visual effects artists Greg Nicotero directed it. While AMC doesn’t tease fans with new footage from the premiere, The Walking Dead’s crew speaks highly of the twists and turns that season four will bring.

When we left Rick Grimes and company at the end of season three, Rick had just came back from Woodbury with more new survivors to add to his group, mainly children and the elderly. The Governor is still at large, and there’s a question if and when he’ll pop up in season four. It will be interesting to see if the premiere can fix some of the problems from the season three finale.

Season four will see some new additions to the cast, including Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Wire), who will play Bob Stookey, while actors Emily Kinney, Chad Coleman, and Sonequa Martin-Green have also been added to The Walking Dead‘s main cast.

The Walking Dead returns for season four sometime in October on AMC.
