TRON: Legacy Concept Art Showcases Lightcycles And Neon Tanks

Whatever else you can say about Tron: Legacy, there’s no question that it was a spectacular audiovisual experience that deserved to be seen on the biggest damn screen possible. In fact, it might have worked just as well as a silent movie, accompanied only by Daft Punk’s propulsive soundtrack. Whatever your feelings about TRON: Legacy as a movie or a long-awaited sequel, it was just gorgeous as hell, so I imagine I won’t be the only one eager to take a few minutes to slobber all over this gorgeous concept art by artist Daniel Simon.
In addition to TRON: Legacy, Simon has also worked on flicks like Prometheus, Captain America: The First Avenger, and director Joseph Kosinski’s follow-up, Oblivion. He was also the lead vehicle designer on the cartoon spinoff TRON: Uprising. If you’re loving the stuff we’re highlighting here, there’s tons more awesome on display over Simon’s personal website, so go get your gob smacked when you get a chance.
I’m one of the folks who enjoyed Legacy while also acknowledging its flaws, so I’m still holding out hope that we’ll get a third film at some point, and that it will improve on Legacy’s shortcomings. (Those hopes are no more than 36% due to my ongoing “Olivia Wilde as Quorra” crush.) Kosinski still occasionally drops hints that TRON 3 might happen eventually, but it’s been a while since we’ve heard about any movement on the project.
