TRON Destiny Fan Film Blurs The Lines Between The Grid And The Real World
While TRON: Legacy didn’t have the greatest script in the world, it was still nostalgic fun to return to the colorful world of the Grid. (And the propulsive Daft Punk soundtrack didn’t hurt, either.) More than anything, Legacy made me realize how much potential the TRON universe still holds, and hopefully we’ll someday see the right talent come along to give us a truly amazing TRON movie that doesn’t have to bear the proviso that “It looks gorgeous, but…”
With only four short minutes, the fan film TRON: Destiny shows just how cool it would be to follow up on the end of Legacy and have the world of The Grid begin to bleed over into our real world. Shot in only three days with a budget of $5,000, Destiny shows us what happens when a pair of students hack into Encom’s computers and put the secrets they discover to good use. There’s also a cameo from someone you might not expect. Check it out.
