TNT’s Falling Skies Signs Robert Sean Leonard And Gloria Reuben For Season 3
There will be new faces joining the cast of TNT’s hit sci-fi drama Falling Skies when it returns for season three in 2013. Actor Robert Sean Leonard has signed on to the post-apocalyptic alien invasion series for a five-episode arc and former ER star Gloria Reuben will be re-united with her ER co-star, Falling Skies lead Noah Wyle.
Deadline says after appearing on the TV series House on Fox for eight seasons, Robert Sean Leonard will join the cast of Falling Skies to play Dr. Roger Kadar, an obsessive scientist who controls Charleston’s power grid and lives underground with a slew of pet rats. The children of New Charleston have dubbed him “The Rat King.”
This will be a return to the network TNT for Gloria Reuben. She starred in their legal drama Raising The Bar in 2008. Reuben will join Falling Skies to play the character of Marina Perlata, an assistant to Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) and one of the leaders of the human resistance movement against the invading alien force. Reuben’s character is described as an attractive woman, who is mentally and emotionally well put together. The character of Marina Perlata is also extremely intelligent and she has political knowledge and experience that could prove extremely useful to Tom Mason.
TNT ordered a third season of Falling Skies in July earlier this year. It was nominated for two Saturn Awards for Best Presentation on Television (10 Episodes or Less) and Best Actor on Television for Noah Wyle. Falling Skies was also nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in 2012.
Falling Skies season three will premiere on June 16th 2013 on TNT.
