Stormtrooper Targets Hope To Improve Imperial Accuracy

Anyone who’s seen the Star Wars films knows one simple truth about the Empire’s dreaded Stormtrooper legions: they couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn even on a planet constructed entirely of broad-sided barns. With the revelation in the prequels that the Stormtroopers were, at least originally, all clones of Jango Fett, there is only one conclusion we can come to: they should have cloned somebody who could shoot worth a damn. Hopefully these custom-made Stormtrooper targets will help the poor schmucks improve their accuracy.

The targets were created by DeviantArt user theCrow65, and the target subjects range from the irritating, to the furry, to the irritating and furry (see below). If I were the Emperor, I’d have every last Stormtrooper drilling with these things for several hours a day. When your crack Imperial troops can be defeated by a bunch of teddy bears carrying pointy sticks, it’s time to reevaluate your military preparedness. Then again, considering that Luke couldn’t see a thing while wearing a Stormtrooper helmet, perhaps it’s time to consider wardrobe alternatives too…

The helmet, the barely articulated armor, and the lack of a simple laser sight all force the imperial stormtroopers to shoot from the hip old-west style. Given the extreme inaccuracy of that style, the obvious move is to “spray ‘n pray”, but the blasters have at least a 1-2 second recharge interval between shots. Of course, that’s okay if the armor is really that effective. But wait! In Star Wars IV: A New Hope, the rebels seemed to have effective armor-penetrating weapons. All in all, it seems they are forced to wear that battle armor just for looks. Um…yeah…it looks really great.

On what drugs was George Lucas when he thought this thing would be an excellent character to include in a Star Wars Saga, and may I have some?

Apparently you want to hit the wookie in the groin for maximum effect.
