Hamill, Fisher, and FordWith J.J. Abrams getting ready to prep the newest installment in the Star Wars Saga with Star Wars: Episode VII, we know that some of the Saga’s old cast will appear in the new sequel film. A few months ago, we heard reports that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher would reprise their roles as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia, respectively. It appears the only “problem” surrounding their return to the Star Wars universe is that Disney and Lucasfilm believe time hasn’t been so kind to Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.

As reported in The Sun, Star Wars: Episode VII producers are supplying Mark Hamill (now 61) and Carrie Fisher (now 56) top nutritionists and fitness trainers before they make their appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII. Hamill and Fisher haven’t appeared in a Star Wars movie since Return of the Jedi in 1983 when they were 31 and 26-years-old, respectively.

Over the past 30 years, they have aged (as people tend to do). As for Harrison Ford (now 70), Star Wars: Episode VII producers are apparently happy with the way he has wrinkled over the past 30 years, so they won’t be sending him a top nutritionist or fitness trainer.

Of course, Harrison Ford has had the more successful acting career out of the three after the release of the original Star Wars trilogy. He has appeared in the Indiana Jones trilogy (what fourth movie?), The Fugitive, and the upcoming Ender’s Game, so he has stayed fit and active to keep those leading roles I just mentioned.

As for Hamill and Fisher, Hamill became a successful voice actor voicing the Joker on Batman: The Animated Series and Fisher became a successful novelist, screenwriter, and playwright with “Postcards from the Edge” and “Wishful Drinking.”

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to go into production early next year in London, England, so there’s plenty of time for producers to get Hamill and Fisher back in shape for their appearance in the new movie. It just seems off-putting that there’s a whole industry out there obsessed with physical appearance especially since Hamill and Fisher have so much more to offer other than their looks.

Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters some time in 2015, in 3D. I don’t think Yoda would be happy with Star Wars: Episode VII producers:
