For the whole story, i think there is a god who created these engineers to create us, the humans, god liked us, engineers doesn’t, engineers wants to wipe us out maybe because we don’t worship them, god wants to stop them so maybe that’s why he created these parasites to stop these engineers.. probably that might be the story, but i don’t know, if it wasn’t i would like to know… SEQUEL! SEQUEL!

I just watched the movie minutes ago… great story and looking forward for a sequel…. the adventures of David & Dr. Shaw.

He chose curiousity (you can see it on his face as he makes the decision) — Ellie made a compelling case for going to ask the Engineers some pointed questions, at their home planet, with a ship-load of weapons-grade mutagens — instead of continuing to follow his dead creator’s compulsion that the payload be returned to Earth. Vickers makes the same decision the very second Weyland expires: No need to follow orders and stay on the hellhole planet another second longer (although she undoubtedly knows she’s got a half-human xenomorph locked up in her medpod to take back to Earth with her, as she was programmed to do)…

I imagine that Weyland’s instructions ran along the lines of, “If you find any alien lifeforms on your explorations, be sure and bring back some samples. Our medical division will make a fortune off the research”, without necessarily ever thinking that those life forms would be the most horrific nightmare ever devised, so destructive that the god-like Engineers couldn’t overcome an outbreak. Weyland was probably thinking more along the lines of Tribbles…

So, David asks: “And how do you propose I transport these life forms, should I find any?”

Weyland: “Oh, just stick them in any suitable container…”

…That and the fact that it has finally percolated through to Ridley’s consciousness that the androids of Alien and the androids of Blade Runner are in fact related, and that their creators, Weyland and Tyrell, were old friends/partners/rivals…like latter day Gates and Jobs, respectively: Two different visions for the future of synthetic humans, sometimes working together for breakthroughs, and frequently at stranglehold odds with one another. But, in much the same way that Gates has ‘beaten’ Jobs by out-living him, so too with Weyland over Tyrell…

If you think about it, the way the word ‘Father’ is spoken by both characters — Batty and Vickers — is very nearly identical, same intonation…more than a hint of vitriol, with the same underlying subservience and emotional tone of desire to please their ‘God the Father’, Tyrell and Weyland, respectively. All Scott’s robots are fallen angels. If Batty is Lucifer (and I’m pretty sure he is), then Vickers may well be Lilith…

Batty: “I have done…questionable things. … Nothing the God of Biomechanics wouldn’t let you into heaven for…”

Ridley Scott is not haphazard or random in his choice of plot devices. If he purposely goes out of his way to make a specific detail *concrete* — something that could have been left ambiguous without any break in the action — then he did so for a *specific purpose*, which will (or will not) be revealed at a future event in the storytelling, depending on whether he chooses to be perverse about it…

I swear, you guys waste so much money going to the theatre and having *no idea whatsoever* what you’re watching. I mean, it’s all just pretty flashing lights to y’all, right? Whatever became of the ability to think ‘beyond the box’, to appreciate nuance, to comprehend that a puzzle is being *intentionally* set before you? This movie was never meant for y’all. “Fast and Furious 25″, that’s y’all’s speed…

He asks, ‘Are you a robot’ and she cocks her head as though considering an answer for a beat or two, and then replies, “My cabin, 15 minutes.”

She neither answers in the affirmative nor the negative… like it’s a question she *cannot* answer: She can’t lie and say ‘No’ and she can’t tell the truth and say ‘Yes’.

So, here’s a thought experiment:

Maybe the bridge crew — with nothing better to do but think about how to get her knickers off, and clearly fond of prop wagers — have figured out that she’s a droid and know that she can’t answer the question…that her response is *always* gonna be, “Let’s have sex to divert your attention away from this line of inquiry.”

If so, any time one of the crewmen/women need sexual relief, all they have to do is ask, “Hey, bebby, are you a robot?” and she suddenly develops a case of round heels. The fact that she’s…um, ‘the queen bitch’…the rest of the time only makes it that much more therapeutic to the rest of the boys and girls when she suddenly becomes sexually permissive…

In short, she’s a pincushion, like David is waaay gay. And what does that say about Old Man Weyland (and his buddy Tyrell, in his Liberace dressing gown)?

I think it’d be a neat idea since it’d play into the idea that the robots in the Alien franchise have more humanity then the human characters would like to believe. Bishop, Ash, Vickers and David would all essentially be slaves to Weyland Yutani
