New Prometheus Images Will Make Your Eyes Water

Ridley Scott’s Prometheus is still two long months away, but the promotional campaign continues to dole out intriguing tidbits. Last week they introduced a Facebook app called Starmap, which is releasing new Prometheus pics on a weekly basis. Now we’re in week two, and they’ve unleashed a new batch that includes alien architecture, a gorgeous ship shot, and one potentially spoilerish animated gif. We’ve put that image toward the bottom of the post, so don’t scroll down if you want to remain unspoiled.

The ties to Alien are on clear display here, with one image showing the distinct design of the curved alien craft inside which the crew of the Nostromo found the xenomorph eggs that began their troubles. Presumably this is another ship from the same species, not the same exact vessel, but you never know. The other shots feature the Giger-esque architecture of…what? Inside the ship? Inside some ruins? No real way to tell at this point, but it sure as hell looks spooky. And just try to stare at this next one without your eyes watering…

Prometheus opens in theaters on June 1st. In the mean time, we’ll be poring over these images to see if we can discern any other clues…

From that picture looking down on the planet. That does not look like LV-426.
