Aside from being one of the most original and entertaining games of recent years, Valve’s Portal has inspired plenty of creativity from fans who fell in love with the concept. For those of you still unfamiliar with the game, it centers around the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, which allows you to project two linked portals onto different surfaces: step (or fall) into one and you’ll come out the other. This makes for all sorts of clever and challenging gameplay as the protagonist, Chell, attempts to escape from Aperture’s testing labs while a passive-aggressive A.I. named GLaDOS first assists, then mocks, and finally attempts to murder her.

Now we’ve spotted another excellent fan film, this one dubbed Portal: Terminal Velocity. While the amazing Portal: No Escape attempted to create a new narrative using the concept of the device, Terminal Velocity takes a simpler — and funnier — approach by showing three friends getting up to no good with a Portal gun…which is, let’s face it, exactly what most of us would do in their situation. The effects and camerawork are damned impressive, and it perfectly captures the joy of monkeying around with physics that made the game so addictive. Check it out:
