Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim truly has been the gift that keeps on giving this week. We’ve seen two different viral videos and four different blueprint designs for the flick’s giant battlebots, called Jaegers. Now we’ve got blueprints for a fifth Jaeger, this one dubbed “Crimson Typhoon.” This massive device represents China in humanity’s war against the giant, other-dimensional monsters threatening to destroy us all. We’ve previously seen ‘bots from Russia, Australia, Japan, and one (Gipsy Danger) for which I can’t determine the nation of origin. Take a look at China’s multi-armed menace, the Crimson Typhoon.

Pacific Rim opens on July 12, 2013. You can see the earlier blueprints here and here, and you can check out the official synopsis below.

In the film, legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, start rising from the sea and begin a war that would takes millions of lives and consumes humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
